I've decided to rewrite every chapter so for the readers who have read this, hope you enjoy the improvement! And for those who haven't read this yet, enjoy! After re-reading it myself I saw some things didn't make much sense but I'm going to correct that. I hope to end this sometime before 2014 ends. Since it is my first fanfic I wanted to end it right by improving the beginning. :) The sequel will come some time after wards.
Secrets, Lies, and Betrayal: "What'll happen when Karin discovers Kazune's secret? Will it affect their relationship? And who are the new transfer students that seem to be interested in kamika?"
Secrets, Lies, and Betrayal
Karin was walking slowly through a field of flowers. 'How did I get here...?' She wondered. She looked around and only saw an endless sea of the most beautiful flowers she had ever seen. She couldn't help but smile at the beauty before her. It was truly magnificent. As she closed her eyes to intake the wonderful smell of the fresh flowers, she felt a pair of hands cover her eyes.
"Hm? What's going on?" Karin tried shaking off whoever it was behind her, covering her vision.
She felt that person lean in close to her ear. She could feel him/her practically breathing on her neck which made her feel a bit of a tingle on that spot. "Guess." She heard a male voice.
That voice belonged to one person and one person only. Karin smiled as she took his hands off her face and turned around to greet him.
"Kazune..."
He returned the smile and tenderly cupped her cheek. Karin closed her eyes, enjoying the warmth of his hand on her cheek. She placed her hand on top of his in a loving manner.
"There's no where else I'd rather be than right here with you." She said opening her eyes and staring into his sapphire orbs she could just simply melt in. "I love you." She confessed.
Kazune's smile couldn't have grown any bigger. A smile that easily reminded Karin of a little boy excited to enter the toy store and buy a new toy.
"I love you too. I always have, and I always will."
They both leaned in slowly, ready to show how much they cared for each other through a kiss, that is until...
The door opened to Karin's room. "Wake up or we're gonna be late for school!" Kazune shouted.
Karin rolled off her bed with a startle. "Eep!" Thump!
Kazune thought about helping her up but decided not to in the end. The girl had to learn not to be so clumsy one way or another. "Just... Get ready." He said before leaving. He knew she would be okay when she poked her head out from the under the sheets. Somehow Karin had managed to tangle herself in them.
Karin rubbed her head. "Ow..." She looked at the clock. "Ugh..." She got up and fixed the sheets before getting ready for school.
After getting dressed she dashed down the stairs to the kitchen where Himeka was already waiting for her. "Good morning Karin! We're running a little late so I only made toast." Karin gladly accepted it and thanked her best friend. "Come on. Kazune already went ahead." Himeka said as she grabbed her bag.
Karin grabbed hers too and the two of them caught up to Kazune who wasn't that far ahead. She nibbled on her toast quietly as she occasionally glanced at Kazune every now and again. Her dream was coming back to her. She blushed a light shade of pink. It was the first time she had dreamed of Kazune in that way.
Before the only person she had ever dreamed of was Kirika till she found out the truth about her identity.
She tried not to think about it too much as they kept walking. Kazune caught her looking at him every now and again. 'Hm? What's up with her?'He wondered.
The entire walk to school had been silent. Not that Kazune minded. He didn't feel like saying much anyway. Karin was too busy trying to keep her mind off the dream to say anything. As for Himeka, she was just walking in contentment between Kazune and Karin. She didn't mind the silence either.
They managed to get there with a few minutes to spare. Before entering the classroom Kazune stopped Karin. Himeka went in to say hello to everyone. "Hm?" Karin was confused. Why had Kazune stopped her so suddenly in front of the classroom door?
Kazune cupped her cheek. 'Just like in my dream...'Karin thought. She wasn't sure what to do. She didn't know how she felt about Kazune nor was she sure if this was something she wanted at the moment. They were just starting to interact again after a month of him avoiding her.
"Kazune..."
After the battle with Kirihiko Kazune had actually confessed to Karin thinking that he had almost lost her. Karin of course was in no way ready to handle that. She was still dealing with her disillusioned feelings for Kirika. He played it off of course but things were awkward between them for about a month. It's not until recently that they began somewhat talking again.
She was too caught up in thought, interrupted when Kazune wiped away a bread crumb from the corner of her mouth.
"Next time you eat breakfast try not to bring it with you on your mouth to school." He said teasingly.
Karin felt like a bubble had just been deflated in front of her face. She pouted, lightly smacking his hand away. Of course he would take that opportunity to poke fun at her. And here she was thinking they were about to share a moment. 'Pfft, puh-leaze! A moment with Kazune? Yeah right. He's the biggest jerk!'She thought with a slight chuckle.
She stepped into the classroom a few seconds after Kazune.
'Can't believe I thought for a moment that dream might have meant something...'
Her inner dialogue was cut short by a crushing hug from Micchi. He swooped her up and hugged her with all his might. "Good morning Karin!"
Karin could barely get a word out. Micchi placed her down. "How are you?" After catching her breath Karin half smiled. "I'm alright." She simply said.
Micchi could see right through her though. "Are you sure? Seems like you've got something on your mind." He innocently said. He wasn't a stranger to her issues with Kazune. That was the only probable thing that could have been on her mind. They had already defeated Kirihiko a month ago so he knew it couldn't have been anything too serious.
She chuckled. Micchi had grown really close to both Karin and Kazune that past month. Not that Kazune would ever admit that. But Karin wasn't really that surprised that he was able to see right through her little white lie. "I'm fine, I promise. Just thinking about some stuff. Nothing worth worrying about though." Karin said. Micchi nodded. He'll just take her word for it and leave it alone for now.
Micchi walked up to Kazune with a grin and swung his arm around Kazune's neck and pulled him close. "Hey there! So I hear you and Karin are talking again..." He said that last part with an even bigger mischievous grin. Kazune glared at him.
"Don't EVEN go there." He threatened as he forcefully removed the arm around him. Micchi laughed. Typical Kazune.
A few minutes after that the teacher walked in and the class was ready to begin. Once the teacher got settled he began the lesson.
Karin's mind was elsewhere though. She couldn't stop thinking about the dream she had about her and Kazune.
She took in a deep breath and sighed softly. She touched her cheek, the one Kazune had cupped not only in her dream but in real life. She'd be lying if she said she didn't wish that dream were real. It was weird. A month ago she wasn't thinking about Kazune in that sort of way, but now...
'No! You're just having a moment right now. It's been a while since we've spoken normally, I probably just miss him. Yeah, that's right.'Karin nodded to herself in agreement. Anything to justify that dream of hers.
'Yeah right. You know you like him. May have crept on you, but you like him!'
Karin's eyes widened in surprise. Where did that come from? Is she developing feelings for him? She didn't think so. Ugh, that dream really messed her up.
'But what if I do?
... What if I like Kazune?'
END OF CHAPTER. 1
I know, it's still on the short side, but hey what can you do? ;P
'Least it's now better written compared to how it was before heheh.
