"Why don't I have a mommy?" The voice of Jason and Percy's daughter, Penelope Victorie Grace, asks her dad.

Perseus Grace looks at his daughter through the rearview mirror, "What do you mean Penny? You have Venus. Plus Grandma Sally and Aunt Thalia."

"I mean one who lives with me." Penny tells him, "All I have is you and daddy."

"How about we go for milkshakes when daddy gets home" Percy says, avoiding the question.

Penny asks hopefully, "And grandma's?"

"And grandma's." Percy replies.

Percy puts in the soundtrack to Moana, his favorite Disney Movie and heads to his mother's house.

He couldn't believe that his daughter would ask that question. Well, he could believe it, but he was hoping she didn't.

Percy entered his mother's apartment where Estelle, his little sister was having a conversation with his mother.

"Hey Penny!" Estelle says, completely disregarding the conversation she was having with her mother.

Estelle and Penny head to Estelle's room, while Percy sat at the seat Estelle was formerly at.

Sally comments, "This was unplanned."

"Penelope asked." Percy responds.

Sally's smile disappears, "What's wrong? Did Jason get injured?"

"No, Jason is fine." Percy answers, "It's Penny."

"What happened?" Sally asks concerned.

Percy takes a deep breath, "She asked why didn't she have a mom."

"You did too." Sally comments.

Percy replies bewildered, "But I had you."

"You did however ask why you didn't have a dad." Sally clears.

Percy responds, "Oh."

"It was our first time at Montauk. We were about to go to bed when you asked." Sally says, remembering fond memories.

Percy asks, "What did you tell me at the time?"

"Well, I told you your father was lost at sea and that he would have loved you." Sally answers, "I also told you that I was getting married."

"Oh." Percy comments, "I told Penny that Venus was her actual mom, but that she also had loads of people who cared about her as well that are kinda like moms."

"Am I in trouble?" Penny asks from the hallway.

Percy heads to his daughter and asks, "Were you listening to us?"

Penny nods and Estelle confesses, "It was my idea."

"Well eavesdropping is bad," Percy tells them, "But you are not in trouble."

"Then why were you talking about me?" Penny asks.

Sally comes over to her children and grandchild and says, "You said a very interesting thing today, but your daddy also said the same interesting thing when he was your age."

"Do you want to get those milkshakes now? Daddy will be at home soon and I bet he would want a milkshake as well." Percy says.

Penny replies, "I bet he would like a milkshake too."

"Lets go." Percy picks up Penny and they go to grab milkshakes. Percy grabs two vanilla milkshakes and a chocolate one for himself.

When he gets home he and Jason eat their milkshakes while helping Penny with her homework.

Once Penny is getting ready to go to bed, Percy brings up Penelope's little question.

"Penny wanted to know why she didn't have a mom." Percy says to his husband.

Jason looks at him and asks, "What did you tell her?"

"I told her that she had Granma Sally and Aunt Thalia." Percy answers, "Plus I told her that Venus was her actual mom."

"Why did she ask that?" Jason asks.

Penny answers from the hallway, "Because we were making stuff for mother's day and I was the only kid in my class who didn't make anything."

Percy smacks himself on the head and mutters, "I forgot it was mother's day."

"Am I in trouble?" Penny asks again.

Jason picks up his daughter and they head to put Penelope to bed.

Jason replies, "You aren't in any trouble, Penny."

"Now do you want a bedtime story?" Percy asks.

Penny's eyes lights up as she grabs a book about a pirate princess. Jason and Percy read the story to Penelope and before the book is over, she is fast asleep with a smile on her face.
