They were staring at him.
Those big amber eyes.
He ripped off his glasses and threw them, hearing them shatter on the bathroom floor. He looked back at the eyes, they were still staring.
It was just like at school.
Everyone staring.
Everyone mocking.
Everyone telling lies.
"Go away!" he shouted at the eyes, the silently judging eyes. He had enough! He picked up his razor and looked at how inviting the blade looked. Holding it over his wrist, he looked at the eyes again.
They looked furious, hateful, and… scared. They were terrified. His hand shook as he tried to disobey the eyes, but the sheer terror in them eventually overruled.
Dib threw the razor in the wastebasket and pulled at his hair that clung to his scalp. He glared back at the eyes.
They were judging him again.
'Why would you do that?' they screamed at him.
'Why are you so stupid?' they scoffed.
'Stop being so attention-seeking,' they said, not even knowing or caring about what he's been through.
He let the words sink in, believing them, letting them take over his mind, letting them rule him.
Just as he was about to give in, he heard a small voice, 'Don't listen to them… You're better than this.'
The raven thought for a moment, doubting and disbelieving the voice… Then he looked at those forever judging eyes.
Without hesitating one more second, he pulled his fist back and shattered the mirror in one punch.
