A/N: Hey! here's a little one-shot about the recent (for now) manga chapter! ch 288 to be exact. Well I just thought I would make a little drable through the mind of Doranblot/Mest seeing as this is the first time he's seen Wendy since Tenrou Island. Um yeah... that's it and... oh yeah! I don't own Fairy Tail or it's characters... If I did Gajeel and Levy would be like married by now or something... XD anyways... Enjoy!
Not Just a Little Girl
Good luck, Wendy!
Doranbolt, known to the young mage Wendy as the mage Mest, sat in the stands watching as the young girl stepped into the arena. He smirked when Shelia tripped, he couldn't help it, he was going to root for this Wendy. Then of course, Wendy trips. Doranbolt couldn't help but smile; she hadn't changed a bit, literally.
His affection for the young mage was purely platonic. He felt for her as a sort of older brother. As much as he had put up a front about not resenting the destruction of Fairy Tails core members, but deep down, he felt guilty. He couldn't do anything, the least he could have done was save Wendy. But he couldn't, he was too weak, too scared. Now seven years later, they are found safe and sound with barely a scratch on them, incredible! The sheer power the guild of Fairy Tail has is immense; when they pool it together they do amazing things. That's why he knows Wendy will win. He's sure of it.
He watches the fight unroll; he is shocked to find that Wendy's opponent is incredibly strong, stronger than Wendy it would seem. But Wendy is holding her own. Since she had come back from the seven year blank she'd been training. He could tell. She'd gotten stronger; she will continue to become stronger. She was probably strong that himself if he allowed himself to admit it.
But as the fight rages on, it becomes apparent that her opponent is stronger. As he looks in the crowd, he can see them thinking Shelia will win, but he knows something they don't. Wendy will win. Because not only is she strong in magical power, she has a strong heart, a heart filled with the hope, fighting spirit and strong will of her guild.
Wendy will win. She's from Fairy Tail after all. She's not just a little girl.
