Scorpius' Job

xXx

"I have to study!" Albus whined as Scorpius pulled him from the castle.

Scorpius rolled his eyes. "You've studied enough."

Albus attempted to dig his heels into the ground to stop the forward motion. "It's impossible to know everything that's going to be on the Potions exam. I need to study as much as I can."

Scorpius strained to continue pulling Albus despite the resistance he was receiving. "No. What you need to do is relax before you have a nervous breakdown."

"I'm not going to have a nervous breakdown," Albus petulantly argued, a little bit insulted at the suggestion. "And when did you get so pushy?"

"When you almost passed out from exhaustion. And I'm not the only one worried about you. Your dad sent me a letter, asking me how you were doing and if I could look after you."

"I don't need a babysitter."

"When you ignore your health, you do," Scorpius retorted. "This afternoon is for your own good, and you'll thank me for it."

They finally arrived at the Black Lake. Scorpius quickly dropped Albus' hand and then took off his robes, shirt, and trousers, uncovering his bathing suit.

"I hate swimming."

Scorpius grinned. "I know you do. That's why I didn't force you to bring your bathing suit. You can still relax without going into the lake. I enjoy swimming, though, so I'm going to make the most out of a beautiful day." With that, Scorpius winked at his annoyed boyfriend and took a running leap into the lake. The water was as warm as a bath.

Scorpius began doing the backstroke so he could keep an eye on his favorite raven-haired boy. In case Albus tried to run, Scorpius wanted to have a better chance to catch the other Slytherin. Thankfully, all of the fight seemed to drain from Albus.

The other boy sat down with a scowl on his face and watched Scorpius swim back and forth. None of the sea creatures came to the surface to play.

Albus kept glancing back at the castle with a worried frown on his face. His mind was still going a million miles a minute.

Scorpius sighed. He loved Albus, but the other boy was such a worrier. He always thought the worst was going to happen. He swam back to the grass and heaved himself out of the water. He crawled over the frazzled youth. "Al, you need to relax. You're one of the smartest kids in our year. You'll do fine on the test if you relax. You're more likely to make a mistake if you're worked up over it."

"I usually have no problem with potions, but this year it has been a struggle."

"It's our N.E.W.T. year; it's supposed to be hard, but you're probably taking it to the level your Aunt Hermione used to take it, and you don't want to do that." Scorpius crawled to sit behind Albus and began massaging the tense shoulders.

Despite himself, Albus closed his eyes. "That feels good."

Scorpius leaned forward and kissed Albus' earlobe. "That's it. Just relax and let me take care of you."

Albus leaned back slightly, and his head rested against Scorpius' chest. "You always take care of me."

"And I always will," Scorpius promised, continued to rub the shoulders until Albus was a puddle of goo. As the boyfriend, that was Scorpius' job.
