I know a lot of people have been bummed out because Asuma and Kurenai are 'canon'. But who cares?!?! We are fanfiction writers! We are explorers of the unknown, walkers of the road less travelled, and often times odd people! So it's 'canon'. So what?!!? Unless the story is a direct novelization of the manga/anime/whatever, the fanfiction won't be 'canon' either! If you want to write NaruKure, then write NaruKure! Screw canon! We don't write for money, or, usually, praise, we write for ourselves! If you believe in NaruKure, then write NaruKure, read NaruKure! And besides! Asuma is dead! Stories could be written where Naruto finds Kurenai all depressed and stuff, and consoles her or something! We write fanfiction, not 'canon'!!
AsumaKurenai may be canon, but its also dead, for half of the pairing is dead. NaruKure can live on!!!!
