SUMMARY: Hermione's secret snowflake has been sending her red roses... but who is it?

Hello again and welcome to my lair of strangeness. This is what you get for having me up late at
night, and can't get to sleep. This is pretty much pure fluff, so if you're looking for action,
leave. Now.

It's a little late for x-mas... uh... WAY too late but oh well.

Enjoy!

The Secret Snowflake
~

It was a way to spread the Yultide cheer.

Whatever.

I waited to get to the front of the line to see who's name I would
pick.

Some teacher got this great idea that you would pick a name out of
a hat, and would have to do a good deed for them. Unfortunately,
most people couldn't stand who their "Secret Snowflake" was.

"Draco Malfoy?" Harry muttered angrily. "Hah!"

Thankfully, I had better luck. It was easy to do something nice for
Neville, just do his homework ahead of time, and put it on his desk.
With a confident grin, I made my way back to the Griffyndor common
room, and got to work.

I was pulling out the book for the Potions essay, when instead, I
found a red rose with a small snowflake attached.

Why would MY secret snowflake send a red rose?

*

"So Ron, who's your secret snowflake?" I asked at dinner, trying to
sound casual.

"Someone." He shrugged. Well that's real informative.

"Oh come on, tell me! I'll tell you!" I pleaded.

"Fine." He sighed and made a face. "Crabbe." I almost cholked on my
pumpkin juice.

"Crabbe. You have to do something nice for him?"

"Yeah. What about you?"

"I'm doing Neville's homework." I shrugged. "By the way, how's it going
with Malfoy?" I asked Harry.

"Don't ask." He muttered darkly.

*

We arrived at Care of Magical Creatures the next day when another red
rose fell out of my bag. I blushed among the whistles and catcalls, and
picked it up.

"Well well well, Granger's got a secret admirer." Malfoy sneered. I
pointedly ignored him, he wasn't worth it. Crabbe seemed happy to see
the big slab of Honeydukes chocolate that Ron had given him. Actually,
that seemed to be the most popular gift.

*

It was like that every day of the week. Each day, I would find a red
rose with a small snowflake attached. On the day before Christmas
holidays, it came with a note.

Meet me in the common room at midnight.

*

I crept downstairs, to find no one.

"Hello?" I called tentatively. Footsteps coming from the boys dormitory
made me freeze. I turned around only to see...

"Ron?"

"Hey Hermione, what are you doing here?" He asked.

"A note that someone sent me." I said, clearing my throat. He didn't
seem to take the hint.

"Oh."

"Listen, Ron, why did you lie about getting Crabbe's name?" I asked.

"What?" Well our resident red head was a man of many words tonight.

"Neville had it. Why did you lie?"

"Um..." He blushed, red like the roses. "Because... I... pickedyourname."
he rushed out. "And... I didn't want you to know it was me."

"But red roses..." I was throuroughly confused, until he strode
easily towards me with those long legs of his, and kissed me.

Maybe the cheer would get around.

I certainly felt happy.
