Through the Generations

1st Generation

"Sev!" Lily called out in a loud voice, raising her arm up in the small crowd of Hogsmeade to make sure she was seen.
Severus walked toward her, and the girl, happily showed him a Chocolate Frog sticker.

"Look who Peter has found!" She said, turning the sticker upside.
"Salazar Slytherin," the other incredulously commented.
"I've stolen it from Peter before he could tear it apart," she revealed winking; she then put the sticker between his friend's gloved hands. "It's for you," she smiled sweetly.
Severus, a Slytherin himself, smiled back, thanking her and insisting to offer her a butterbeer.
He really loved that Gryffindor girl, and remembered why at her every kind gesture, especially for those little things that made her be unique.

2nd Generation

By now Harry had an almost fixed appointment with Severus Snape at weekends, and it was called 'punishment'.
"Sir?" Harry called the man, while cleaning another dirty cauldron. Snape made a noise, as if to let him understand that he was listening. "You know? You should get a different hobby, other than making me go through hell for what my father did," He asked in a rhetorical tone, purposively teasing his teacher.
Snape would have really wanted to shut Harry's mouth with his own, and drag him to his room: that would have been a great pastime, perhaps equally challenging. He stood up, facing the youth and holding his gaze, but he was unable to come forward. Once again.

3rd Generation

It was his own father to ask for this particular painting to be hung in Hogwarts, but he couldn't know it.
"What are you looking at?" The former Principal angrily said, staring at the eleven year old boy.
"My name is Albus Severus Potter," he said, fiddling with his green and silver tie knot.
After a moment of bewilderment, Severus Snape understood.

"I am..." He started, but was interrupted midsentence.
"I know who you are," the boy said. "You're the bravest man my father ever knew." He smiled and looked toward Scorpius, far from him by now. "I'll come back," he promised, leaving the man with the image of his green irises, that would sweetly haunt him forever.
"Sure... I won't run from those eyes, this time."
