Someone to Lean On
After seeing her room in ashes, Carly started to sniff quietly. Freddie felt so bad for her,and he finally gave in to the urge to hug her and comfort her. He wrapped his arms around her small waist, and after putting her head in his chest, lets on her body shaking sobs. She put her arms around his neck and let her comfort her.
"Just let it out, it's ok," he murmered to her quietly. Sam caught Freddie's attention and motioned that she and Spencer were going downstairs with all of the firefighters. In seconds, they were the only two in the room. Carly was starting to calm down, but Freddie didn't let go of her. He carefully led her out into the hallway, then slowly slid down the wall and sat with her. He kissed the top of her head and held her tighter. After she stopped sobbing, she looked up at him. Her makeup was all gone, but Freddie still thought she looked beautiful. She seemed to be trying to pull herself together.
"I'm sorry." she apologized in a quiet voice.
"Shhh, it's ok." he promised her in the same voice.
"But I ruined your shirt and..." she said, not really able to think through the grief she was experiencing.
"Carly, I promise, it's ok." he assured her, hugging her tighter, surprised when she didn't pull away, instead, she hugged him back. But, then again,she had just lost her room and everything in it.
"I don't deserve you, Freddie Benson." she said softly laughing.
" Neither does Sam, but I put up with her anyway." he replied, smiling with her.
She chuckled, knowing that was very true. When Freddie saw that she was ok now, he slowly got up and then held out his hand to her. She took it, and his helped her up. The headed downstairs, but before they reached the stairs, Carly turned to Freddie and kissed him on the cheek.
"Thank you, Freddie," she said gratefully, " For everything."
"Hey," he replied, "That's what I'm here for."
She smiled, knowing that she always had him to lean on.
So, what do you think? When Sam was the one to comfort Carly, i thought it was sweet, but i imagined what would it be like if Freddie was the one to comfort her. So, this was born!
