Rodney shook his head, seeing the equation was wrong, before abandoning getting it right, and moving onto a different equation.
A white light appeared before him, and he didn't notice for a moment, before his eyes registered the light difference.
'Ascended huh?' he asked bitterly.
'Don't be difficult Rodney,' John said. 'I came to help you.'
'How? The only reason I was working on this was that we could save you.' Rodney said.
'I'm not ascended.' John told him. 'Teira is boosting me, so that I can talk to you.'
'Teira?' Rodney questioned.
'Don't worry about that.' John shook his head, 'But concentrate on it, I know that you're working on it, and Teira can see you arriving soon.'
'So just concentrate?' Rodney asked, annoyed. 'What do you think I've been doing?
'You've been getting distracted.' John contradicted. 'Now you don't have to, you know that I'm alright, you don't have to worry about me, so now you can concentrate fully.'
Rodney sighed. 'I don't know where I'm going wrong.'
John laughed. 'It's not that you're going wrong, it's that you're looking in the wrong place.'
Rodney stared at him. 'How the hell do you know that?
John looked off into the distance, and Rodney heard faint yelling. 'John, the Beast is coming!'
John looked at him, 'Look Rodney, I've got to go, but I know that you'll get it.' He smiled. 'I believe in you.'
John disappeared, falling sideways slightly, and Rodney heard him shouting faintly. 'Rodney can do it, Hetta, if there's anything he's good at, it's this.'
Elizabeth looked into the cave, 'Rodney, who were you talking to?'
Rodney grinned to himself. 'Just a friend.'
