Jackie Gets Pulled Over
Jackie was driving home from her parent's house after picking the kids up after she got off of work. Usually Nick picked the kids up in the morning after he left the lab but he had to pull a double so Jackie's mom had the kids all day.
Suddenly Jackie heard sirens, she looked behind her thinking there was an ambulance but it wasn't, it was a cop car and she was being pulled over.
Lovely she thought to herself.
She wondered what she was being pulled over for, she knew it wasn't for speeding, she never went over the speed limit especially when the kids were in the car with her.
She pulled her van over to the shoulder of the road. A few moments later a cop started walking towards her car. She chuckled to herself when she saw who the cop was.
"Hi Mitch." She said as she rolled down the window as he approached the car.
"Hi Jackie." He said sounding shocked.
Jackie smiled at him, this was sort of awkward.
"Jackie did you know you have a break light out?" He asked.
"No, I didn't know that, sorry, I'll have Nicky fix it." Jackie told him.
"Ok, good, I'm not going to give you a ticket, I never do for something like that, I just like people to be aware of it because most of the time they have no clue."
"Thanks Mitch, I appreciate that." Jackie told him.
"You're welcome, I do need to see your driver's license and registration though since I pulled you over. It's just procedure."
"Alright, no problem." Jackie said as she dug out the items she needed.
"How are you doing?" He asked her.
"I'm good, how are you doing?"
"I'm great." He answered.
"So glad to hear it." Jackie told him. "Do you have your kiddos here with you?"
"Yep, they are all with me." She said.
He stuck his head into the car.
"Hi guys." He told the kids with a smile.
"Hi." A bunch of little voices said.
"Is my mama going to jail?" Little Sloan asked sounding incredibly worried.
"No buddy, she isn't going to jail." He assured the little boy with a laugh.
Jackie and Mitch looked at each other and smiled.
"Do you have a sucker?" Karlie asked him innocently.
Jackie burst out laughing.
"No he doesn't have a sucker goofball, he isn't the bank." She answered.
Karlie frowned, this was very disappointing news.
"Alright, I will let you guys be on your way, it was good to see you."
"Likewise, thank you Mitch."
With one last smile at the kids Mitch walked back to his patrol car.
Jackie then drove home, relieved that she didn't get a ticket!
