Chuck had been creating animals for hours now. He was taking his time because he wanted everything to be perfect. But his children were starting to be bored. And when you're bored, you find ideas to not be bored anymore.

"Father! Lucifer is hurting me!"

"Lucifer, leave your brother alone."

"Michael was the one who started!"

"Michael, leave your brother alone."

The calm seemed to be back. Chuck went back to his animals.

"Father! Father!"

"What now?"

"They're fighting again!"

Exasperated, he stood up and went to see what the hell was going on (even if there is no hell yet).

The animals where left there, half finished, not moving. The rare one that were done were not far, in a field, discovering this brave new world.

A young angelarrived there. He saw the half animals on the ground, and looked around. No one. New toys. He sat on the ground, and started to create a new animal. A tail here, a beak there, some fur...

"Gabriel, what are you doing?"

"Cassie! Look! I'm creating an animal!"

"It's not father's? We're not going to be in troubles?"

"Don't worry! Look!"

The baby angel (without a trench coat yet, or does he...? XD) went closer of his big brother, and observed the animal. He tilted his head, curious.

"Can I help you?"

"Sure! Do you think its foot should be hairy or webbed?"

"Let me see. I think it's better like that..."

Castiel sat besides Gabriel, and, together, they created a new animal. They were whispering, giggling even when the oldest was joking around.

Chuck was watching them from afar. He had to get back to work, but hadn't the heart to interrupt them. When he saw them explode in laughter, hedecded to come closer. There, he saw the sparckles of happiness in his children's eyes, Castiel's admiration and Gabriel's pride.

"So Cassie, how should we call it?"

"I can choose its name!?"

"Yes! So? So?"

"I'm thinking... So um... well... a... a Platypus!

"Plat... Your name is weird! I love it!"

Castiel was glowing with pride, and he took gently the animal in his hands, holding it like if it was the most precious treasure of all. After peting it tenderly, he put it back on the ground, and lost his smilewhen he saw his creation staying lifeless. Gabriel held his little brother in his arms, trying to give him back his smile, without success.

Their father made finally his presence known:

"What are you doing with my stuff?"

The baby angel looked immediately at the ground, scared by the possible reprimends, while the young archangel, excited, wasshowing the animal to Chuck:

"Look! Look! We created an animal! It's beautiful, right? Cassie called it a plit... plytapus!"

"Platypus"

"Yes! That! So?"

Chuck hid his smile and took the animal in his hands, examinating it closely. He put a finger on the forehead of the creature before putting it back on the ground. It opened its eyes, and strated to walk towards the other animals already alive. Castiel had forgotten his shyness and fear, and was bugging Gabriel's arm to show him the creature's soul, with wide eyes. The archangel was laughing at his brother's wonder and excitation, and their father was smiling at his children's happiness.

"Thank you father" whispered Cas.

Chuck gave him a warm smile, before turning towards Gabriel:

"Well go! I've got work to do! Shooo! Go play somewhere else!"

The two little angels took each other's hand, and ran away, more than happy to now share a secret with their father.

During the next hours, God did like everything was normal, like he hadn't felt the two pairs of eyes looking at him, nor had seen the two angels hidden among the clouds.
