Carter was sitting on the dock outside her house, staring at the water. She was thinking about Rosie. Sure, they kept in touch after she went back to Costa Luna but she was Queen now. She only had so much time to write a letter or make a phone call. It's been four weeks since they last communicated in some way. This had been the longest Carter had gone without talking to her best friend and the empty feeling she had gotten when she left seemed to be getting bigger.

"Hey there Prom Queen."

Carter jumped up at the sound of a voice. She turned around to find Ed smiling at her with a camera in front of his face.

"Ed! Warn me next time you're gonna sneak up on me! And turn the camera off!" She stuck her hand in front of the lens.

Ed hit a button on the camera and closed it. "Now how would it be sneaking up on you if you knew it was coming?"

"What do you want?" she asked, trying to sound annoyed, but still smiling.

"You're the star of my next movie," he explained.

"Really. What's it called this time?"

"From Homecoming Princess to Prom Queen," he stated proudly.

Carter smirked, "Oh c'mon. You and I both know the only reason I was even close to winning Homecoming Queen was because I was Rosie's cousin. Rosie's gone now and I'm bait girl again."

"Not necessarily," he said, placing the camera down and sitting next to her.

"What do you mean?" she asked, her face revealing her confusion.

"Well, you've got all the right qualities of a Queen. You're smart, generous, loyal, and beautiful." He flashed her a smile.

Carter looked down to hide her now scarlet cheeks and growing smile.

"And even if you don't win," he continued, "You'll always be my Queen. Will you go to prom with me?"

Carter's face jerked up and her eyes met with a pair of warm brown ones.

"Yeah," she said quickly before enveloping him in a great bear hug.

They broke apart and Carter immediately got up from her seat and started heading towards her house.

"Where are you going?" Ed called, pulling himself up.

She turned around and yelled back, "To call Rosie! She'll want to know about this!" She took one look at his slightly hurt face and knew what to do. "Fine, you can come with me." She ran back over and grabbed his hand.

"Do you think Rosie can get that Mr. Elegante guy to make me a tux?" he asked jokingly.

Carter laughed, "Only if he makes me another dress."

They spent the rest of the day hanging out, talking about prom, and trying to get a hold of Rosie. She answered eventually and then joined in on the conversation.

For the first time since Rosie returned to her country, Carter felt whole.

A/N- So, what did you think? I really liked the Ed/Carter relationship and I ended up thinking of this. It might be a little OOC because I've only seen the movie once, but I'll let you be the judge of that. Reviews please!
