The Winner Takes It All
She lay on her bed, staring up at the ceiling. Surely, after three months, it would be safe to listen to her ipod? She picked it up from her desk, closed her eyes, and scrolled down the list of songs. Stopping at random, she pressed the 'play' button.
About half a minute later, the ipod was flung at the wall, and the girl had slumped onto the floor, and curled into a tight ball; around the gaping hole in her chest.
After a time, which was both minutes and centuries long, she noticed a strange, keening sound.
After another few centuries, she noticed that it was coming from her.
Edward, she thought, and instantly her mind was burning.
"AH!" The sound forced itself from between clenched, icy lips. Jasper leant over his wife worriedly, but she waved him away. As she did, she felt her eyes prickling, trying to cry. Bella. Poor, poor Bella.
