"Taking a rain walk, it's a Montana thing, you wouldn't understand." She had spoken those words almost two years ago. Now, he sat in a darkened layout room in the lab, watching the rain pour down in sheets. He wiggled his toes again, it took a lot of concentration and it hurt like hell, but they were moving and that was a start. As soon as he could walk again, he was taking her on a rain walk and showing her that he understands now.

"Danny." Don Flack opened the door and knocked on the wall, "You ready to go?"

"Yeah." Danny smiled, flicking off the light and removing his x-ray, shoving it back in the envelope.

"You're in a good mood, Messer." Flack grinned and wheeled Danny towards the elevators.

Danny chuckled, "I am in a good mood."

"Okay, you're too happy." Flack chuckled.

"Don't tell Lindsay I told you first but... I moved my toes." Danny grinned, "For the first time in a month, I volunatrily moved my toes."

Flack's jaw dropped, "Danny! That's great."

"I know." Danny grinned as they headed for Flack's car, "She..."

"What'd Lindsay do?" Flack opened the door for Danny and Danny rolled his chair right up to the edge of the seat and slid across.

"She told me that ten percent was good enough for her to put her faith in. That there was a ten percent chance that it would rain today and that was enough of a chance for her to bring her umbrella..." Danny smiled.

"You got a good one, Danno." Flack folded up Danny's chair and put it in the trunk.

"I know." And all he wanted was to get home and show her.

--

Flack had helped him into the building and then Danny took the elevator to their floor and entered the dark apartment. It had been a long day and he knew that Lindsay had been up all night the night before with a colic ridden Lucy.

Quietly, he let himself into their room and wheeled himself up to Lindsay's sleeping form. He smoothed her light brown hair and leaned over, pressing a kiss to her cheek. She stirred and turned towards him, "Lindsay... Lindsay."

"Danny?" Lindsay mumbled and wiped her eyes.

"No, it's your lover from Upstate." Danny chuckled.

"Wiseass." Lindsay grumbled, "What do you want?"

"Open your eyes and I'll show ya, Montana." Danny smiled and wiggled as much as he could in his chair from excitement.

Lindsay flipped on the beside lamp and sat up, "This better be good, Mr. Messer."

"It is, Mrs. Messer." Danny pointed down to his feet and took a deep breathe, forcing his toes to move.

"Oh my God.." Lindsay breathed, tears streaming down her cheeks and her arms wrapping around his neck.

"It's raining." Danny whispered in her ear.

Lindsay pulled back and rested her forehead against his, "Told you. I'll put my faith in that ten percent every time."

"Thank you.." Danny whispered and pressed a kiss to her lips.

"For what?" Lindsay murmured, kissing him back.

"For taking a chance on the likes of me."

"I'll always take a chance on you."
