The Melancholy of a Prince
Chapter 1
"As I thought… this day would rather be a boring day." The blue-eyed prince murmured as he looked through his window.
It was another dull day for the lonesome prince. All he could do is stare at the soldiers who do their daily training routines since he can't use his body too much. Yes. His body was rather useless than his brain. As much as he wanted to be, he can't live a normal life. He was diagnosed to have a congenital heart disease and will never live as a sane person as he wished to be. Because of his illness, he always stays in his own room and waits for somebody to come and accompany his loneliness. Though he has a weak body, he somehow possesses a witty mind.
"I really hate this life. I'd rather die…" He sighed. The man behind him heard what he said.
"Hey! What's wrong Ken? Looks like you carry all the burdens of the entire universe." The man with fiery green eyes and lovely black hair appeared sitting on the vacant chair near his door.
"Who gives you the permission to snoop into my room, huh? How long have you been there?" Ken said with annoyance. He raised his brows and made a pout.
"I'm very sorry your highness but I think your personal tutor would not make it today. Since you do nothing but stare at your window, I guess I could give you company." The man smirked which made the royal son to be irritated. His name is Miguel, Ken's annoying best friend since childhood. Same as Ken, Miguel also carries a blue blood and belongs to a noble family.
"I'm sorry but I'm not in the mood to play pranks on you Miguel. I don't need a company so you can leave." He said leaning his head on his study table.
"Are you sure you want to be alone?" Miguel insisted.
"How many times do I have to assure you that I'm fine all by myself?" Ken said slowly losing his patience.
"Oh, I see. I would just like to tell you that your father, King Gregg, allowed me to tour you into the city but since you said that you're satisfied being alone in this boring room, I guess I'd rather not ask you out." Miguel retorted, he's now the annoyed one.
"Go ahead. I'm used with this lifestyle. Thank you for your thoughtfulness, I really appreciate it. Sorry to bother you." Ken mumbled. It felt like a knife stabbed on his chest.
After hearing those words, his best friend leaves the room and he stayed in his position for about an hour. Suddenly, a knock on the door was heard. The door was opened.
"Excuse me your majesty but the King wants to talk to you. Please see him in his study room. It seems that there is a very important matter that the two of you will discuss." The servant said in a monotone voice.
"Tell the King that I'll be there in a minute." Ken replied with a stoic face. The man left the room.
"I wonder what that important thing is…" Ken thought.
