A Day to Remember

Two boys were walking in the park late at night. They didn't notice the stranger who had followed them. They were on there own planet. The blue haired youth turned and pressed his lips against the lips of the boy he loved.
"You were great today," he said to the other boy "We won. It's defiantly one to remember.
"Um.Kai shall we get a cab back to the hotel, your room should be empty. We could celebrate"
"That's an offer hard to refuse". He pressed his lips to the other boy's again.
"Come on then. The sooner we get back the sooner we can.you now" Rei smiled that shy, little smile he always reserved for Kai. Kai loved to see that smile. He grabbed Rei's hand and turned around.
They only noticed the man when he spoke "You sick bastards. Don't you have any sense of decency? You deserve to go straight to the pits of hell. You types of people pollute society."
Kai suddenly looked furious. "What because we happen to be in love. Is it wrong to have love in this world and express it". He hated people who were always saying this homophobic crap. It made him feel sick that there was so much hate.
"Its just a disorder" he spat out the word with so much disgust "you people have. You can get over it. It just laziness. You should be locked up with other disturbed people"
"What?" Kai growled. Rei grabbed Kai.
"Just leave it Kai. Come on lets go"
"No! What do you mean it's a disorder? It's your type of person that make me sick. Going on about how this is wrong but its not. Love can't be wrong! I'm sick of the abuse I get from people like you." Kai paused for breath "If anyone deserve to be put away its people like you," he snarled.
The man lunged at Kai. Kai never had chance to move. The knife seemed to emerge out of thin air. Rei screamed as the knife pierced Kai's chest. As Kai fell to the ground Rei caught him in his arms. "You bastard. What have you done?" Rei screamed at the stranger, tears welling up in his eyes. The man dropped the weapon and ran.
Kai was panting, trying his hardest to breath. "I'm sorry" he managed to say as he looked up into Rei's beautiful eyes as the tears began to run down Rei's face. "What for?" Rei asked. Kai was losing a lot of blood. He tried to stop the flow with his hands. "For not leaving it when you asked. Remember I always loved you. Ever since the first time we met. I'm sorry". He reached up and wiped the tears of Rei's face with his hand. Rei gentle kissed Kai and whispered "and I loved you to. I always will" The colour from Kai's was slowly draining "tell the others I liked them and I'm sorry for being how I was. Shake Max's hand for me. Tell them were the best friends I ever had". Rei couldn't speak; he just nodded and kissed Kai again. They looked into each other's eyes. Rei tried his hardest to fight the wave of misery that threatened to engulf him. His world was being destroyed.
Kai smiled and drew his last breath.
Rei looked at Kai. He looked so peaceful in death. So beautiful and content. He still had that faint smile on his face. Rei's world lay in his arms dead. He reached down and kissed his love, his friend, his everything. He sat with his beautiful Kai in his arms and cried.
