A/N

This is my first fanfic ever so I'm not expecting great reviews I'm just hoping it's not horrible. I don't own Buffy Fox does as I'm sure everyone knows and obviously no profit made. Couldn't figure out how to edit the spacing and such of the story on the site so I just deleted it and reposted it. Also a special thanks to goldenspringtime for giving me feedback about spacing the story to make it easier on the eyes, hope I fixed it

Short story set just after season 7.

The air was particularly chilly for August. The wind came swiftly from behind Xander making him pull his coat around his neck as he stood staring at the ground. After Sunnydale collapsed they had gone back to the edge of town and made makeshift headstones for those lost in the battle.

He stood in front of a very nice headstone made from a large rock with the name Anya Christina Emanuella Jenkins carefully carved in. Xander slowly kneeled down and gently brushed away some dust and leaves off of the stone and smiled, a single tear running down his right cheek. He says "Hey An, just wanted to say goodbye one last time. We'll be heading to Cleveland soon to help out there." He pauses for a moment contemplating what else to say. Finally he sighs and says "I never stopped loving you, I hope you knew that. Despite what I put you through I never stopped."

After a moment he gets up and starts walking to a car parked nearby on the side of the road. Buffy and Willow are standing by it trying their best to give encouraging smiles as he approaches. Once he gets closer they both walk up and grab him in a big hug. A few seconds pass and they break the hug and start walking to the car. Xander looks at Buffy and says "Well, ya ready to go make Cleveland a crater too?" Willow giggles as she's getting into the back seat and Buffy just smiles and shakes her head as she starts the car. The car makes a quick u-turn and drives off leaving a cloud of dust behind.
