Drowsy. That's the first thing I felt. Then confusion, sickness, and, finally, vomit. And, since I was wearing a mask, it backfired, literally!
It took me a minute to realize where I was. It was some sort of incubation chamber used for god knows what. On my face was a mask with two giant tubes connected to it and around my lower half was a metal case that resembled a pair of pants with more tubes running out of it.
My eyes raced around every space I could see. Eventually, I spotted a small button with the word "EJECT" written over it in small text. I tried to reach the faintly glowing circle, but my arm felt like a dumbbell, as if I'd been asleep for years. Eventually, after what seemed like an hour of strain, I was able to reach the button.
As soon as my finger left the button's surface, the mask retracted from my face and my metal pair of pants flew off body, leaving me completely naked. The glass pane that covered the front of the capsule almost instantly disappeared and revealed a small flight of stairs.
Even though the capsule was slightly lighted, the room I was in was a black hole. Eventually, my eyes adjusted and I could make out that it was some sort of lab covered in a thick layer of dust. It seemed like no one had been down here in a millennia.
The room was mostly filled from four giant tanks connected to the capsule with the tubes that had just been on me. Two were empty while the other two were completely full. The empty ones had the words "FOOD " and "WATER" printed on them but I couldn't make out the two filled with a chunky brown substance and a yellow yet see through liquid. Eventually I made out the word "WASTE" on both containers and instantly turned around, utterly disgusted.
Other then that, there was only a staircase leading to a metal door to my right and a small desk in the corner that looked like a herd of rhinos had trampled it. It was covered in broken test tubes, smashed beakers, crumpled blueprints, yellowed books, a brand new computer, a stack of nicely folded clothes, a pair of sneakers, and, wierdest of all, a sword that resembled a lightning bolt, sheath and all. I don't know why, but I was drawn to the clothes and sword, as if they were a bright light and I was a moth. Was this mine? It didn't matter. It was my size and I was completely naked. Even if it was a "My Little Pony" costume, I still would've put it on. Anything was better then being nude.
Since it might be dangerous outside, I decided to test my sword and believe me, I was pretty good. I don't want a swelled head, but if a monster messed with me, they'd be dead before they hit the ground. At least I knew that about myself. But there was so much more unanswered.
From my reflection in the computer screen, I could tell that I was a human, around thirteen, had sleek black hair, bright green eyes, and pale skin. I wore green sneakers, blue jeans, a black leather jacket, and a green shirt with a yellow lightning bolt on it. I also had a scar running straight through my right eye, but that only answered what I look like. Where was I? Who was I? I didn't have time to ponder this, because from outside I heard a loud scream and instantly made for the door!
