I've often wondered: What type of money did the Federation use? This short, satirecal story talks about that!

Hello, crew. This is your captain, Jean-Luc Piccard. I'd like to talk about the situation with the money dispenser computer:

I'm afraid that the problem will take longer to fix then we first anticipated. Our head engineer Georgi LaForge tells me that malware viruses have affected the computer, and it will take several hours to flush out.

However, our onboard stores and cafeterias will issue credit to all workers until further notice. And rest assured, this problem will be fixed by the time we orbit Starbase XR-9.

But I must ask everyone, please don't use the ATM machines, until instructed otherwise.

And let me remind you, DO NOT use the replicaters to try and make more money. Any such attempt will immediately be reported to security, and will result in disciplinary action up to, and including court marshal!
