The morning of April 30th was to be a busy one in the Gryffindor common room. Ronald Weasley was asleep in the same chair he was in last night. Apparently, he had had a busy night as well. Harry Potter decided it would be a good idea to wake him as classes were to begin in 20 minutes.
"Erm, Ron, you might want to wake up now, we've got herbology in 20 minutes…" Harry proceeded in kicking his shoe.
"Bollocks! What in the bloody hell time is it? Have I missed out on breakfast again? I've got looooads to do today. That's it. There is no time. I'll just have to skip out from classes today."
"I don't think so Ronald Weasley. It is near the end of term, you haven't done your report on Irish pixies or the 3 parchments of extra homework from Snape. I will not have you jeopardize your education just because you're concocting a plan that most likely reeks of trouble. And anyway, what would your mother say?" Hermione had just walked into the common room when she had heard a rather loud and grumpy Ron wake up.
"She'd probably sound a lot like you just did, and who are you to say I am concocting trouble. You know very well what it is I happen to be concocting. And I wouldn't exactly call your birthday trouble anyway. It's more of a natural disaster if you ask me…" Ron sputtered out defiantly.

It was just a normal morning for Harry, Ron and Hermione. As Ron walked Hermione to Transfiguration, Harry went on to Herbology without Ron. He thought to himself as he walked down the stone corridor... "They seem to be fighting a lot more recently, but it is her birthday tomorrow... Why won't he tell me what he's planning…? It must be some birthday present... "DAMN" He had forgotten to get Hermione a gift. What was he supposed to do? He could sneak into Hogsmeade after lunch but what would he get her? What do you buy for a girl who doesn't need anything?
"Ron, I do wish you would tell me what you are planning for my birthday tomorrow. Or at least Harry. You shouldn't have to worry about your school work and my birthday at the same time…"
"Hermione, when do I ever worry about my school work? And besides, your birthday is the perfect way to show you how much I care. Because you know, I do and I uhh… I want to... uhhh…. Show you a good time with... Love?.. and stuff like that. You understand now?"
Hermione stared at Ron until she came to her senses. " Ron, were you just trying to be mushy just then? Aren't you adorable." She gave him a quick kiss on the lips and laughed her way into class.
"Aaarrgh. That woman!" And with that he walked to class with only the faintest of smiles on his face.
