(This is as fluffy as I get. I hope you like it!).
Colonel Carter doesn't like her new uniform. Sam and Jack, of course.
"I hate it." she confessed, straightening the collar of her new uniform as she evaluated herself in the mirror.
"Blue's always looked good on you Carter," he said, lowering his hand and letting her hair fall over the newly-buttoned blouse. He put his hands firmly on her shoulders just for a show of moral support. "It's the eyes, I think."
She gave him an appreciative, though skeptical glance by way of his reflection.
"You had to leave the BDU's behind eventually."
She nodded thoughtfully. "I miss that."
"You're too valuable for the front lines, now." He smiled that lopsided little grin that she'd become so fond of over the years, and she relaxed her shoulders. There was no use second guessing herself now.
"Besides, it reflects your new position in life. More respect."
"Since when do you care about that?"
He smiled again. It was becoming a habit that was hard to break, lately. He kissed her temple, keeping his eyes on her image. "Pride, I guess. I see you in this and it's a reflection on me. It was a long road to get here."
She rolled her eyes. "It makes me look fat."
"You're beautiful. I'm going to be the envy of every guy there."
"Jack, you've totally lost it now."
"Oh come on, Carter!" he wrapped his arms around her. "What could possibly be a bigger boost for my ego than seeing you around the base in a maternity uniform?"
