Snowfall
Summary: Harry doesn't really remember how Sanji found him, but he does know that there was snow.
Harry's earliest memories of Sanji are blurry and bright and full of snow. But before there was snow, there was darkness and anger.
The time before the snow was the longest darkness Harry had ever experienced. And with the darkness came anger and hunger. When he was in the darkness, it became hard to breath, impossible to see, and he would choke on his tears before falling into a restless slumber. The darkness made it impossible to see and he would stumble around in it, crashing into objects unknown. And that caused noise.
If Harry made noise in the darkness, it led to anger and a pounding on the wall around him that made his little closet shake and dust would fall from the rafters. So, Harry tried to be as quiet as he could.
But the darkness didn't last forever.
One day, one wish for something better, there was blinding brightness and a wonderful chill.
Harry didn't remember how long he had been out in the snow until Sanji stumbled over him, but he did remember the joy that came with being outside and in the light. He cried when he was taken inside, away from the cold and sunlight and snow.
In Harry's mind, snow and light meant freedom. Blond hair and curly eyebrows meant love. A blue nosed reindeer with a pink top hat meant hope.
Freedom from the darkness. Love that reminded him of a beautiful lady with dark red hair and a man with hazel eyes. Love that meant no more darkness. Hope that meant he could survive for another day. Survive to feel the light and snow and love that came with his new life.
Harry hated the darkness. Snow was much better.
A/N: I'm taking prompts for this story as long as they're in this universe - Papa!Sanji and chibi!Harry with the occasional canon character.
Yeah, no omake for this one.
