Perfection
Huddy Fic
Disclaimer: I do not own these characters, they all belong to the amazing mind of David Shore and the Fox network.
House woke and reached for the space in the bed next to him, but came up empty. The warm body who had been breathing obnoxiously as she slept next to him all night was missing. He lifted his head to check the bathroom but the door was wide open and she wasn't in sight. House groaned as he rolled out of bed and threw on his old robe. He limped out to the hallway and glanced around. Then he wandered out to the living area where he found what he was looking for. Cuddy stood staring out the window. Clad in nothing but his light blue button up dress shirt with her hair slightly mussed, she sipped her tea in thought. House knew she had to be the most beautiful sight he had ever seen. He crept up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist gently. She let out a pleasurable sigh and leaned into his embrace. He rested his chin on the crown of her head and rocked her softly.
"What are you thinking about?" He whispered to her.
The weather outside was cloudy, and House expected the clouds to break soon.
"How amazing you are." She replied quietly, looking up at him.
House let out a warm chuckle. "Well we already knew that." He said with a smirk.
Cuddy giggled and fell silent. House swept the curls from her neck and kissed her softly as the darkness outside opened up and the rain began to pour. Cuddy sighed. They stood for a moment. Then Cuddy suddenly took his hand and began pulling him towards the door.
"Where are we going?" House asked, almost tripping over himself.
"You'll find out." Cuddy replied, throwing his jacket at him and slipping into her own. She ran out the front door and into the rain.
"Wait up. I'm still a cripple, you know." House shouted to her.
Cuddy stood in the middle of the street with her arms outstretched, enjoying the feel of the cool rain.
"What are you doing you crazy woman? You're going to get hit by a car." He warned her from the sidewalk.
"Just come here." She demanded.
House sighed, and limped his way into the middle of the street.
"We're getting soaked." House complained.
"Then kiss me quickly." Cuddy said with a smile.
House couldn't say no to that. He cupped her face gently in his hands and kissed her lips softly. Cuddy braced her hands on his arms and kissed him with more demand. He pulled back and swept her wet hair from her face.
"Okay, now what?" He quizzed.
Cuddy sighed. "That's it. That's exactly what I wanted. A perfect kiss in the rain with the man I love."
House laughed. "I love you too. Now can we go back inside?"
Cuddy smiled and nodded taking his hand to lead him back inside.
