Description: What if Gloss joined Katniss, Peeta, Finnick, and Mags' alliance? Would it have made a difference? *BEGINS AT THE CORNUCOPIA*
Katniss' POV:
I have to wipe the tears from my eyes as I'm lifted into the arena, after seeing Cinna get beaten and dragged away. Out of all things that happened before the arena, why did it have to be that? More importantly, why did it have to be Cinna?
My thoughts are interrupted when a gong sounds and I dive into the water, swimming towards the Cornucopia. Getting to a bow is going to be hard, especially when I have twenty-three other victors trying to cut my head off. But I can't let them, I have to protect Peeta. He has to survive this. Reaching the Cornucopia just before the Careers and finding a bow is a lot easier than I thought. I pick it up, load an arrow in it, and spin around just in time to see the famous Finnick Odair, holding a trident and wearing a...gold bangle around his wrist.
"Lucky thing we're allies." He says with a smirk.
"Where did you get that?" I question him.
"Where do you think? Haymitch. DUCK!" He commands.
I do as he says and fall to the ground when he sends his trident flying through the air, into the body of the District Ten male. The man was going to kill me.
"You go to the other side, see what you can find." He says. "I'll do the same."
I run over to the other side of the Cornucopia and search the piles for anything useful but there is nothing but weapons.
"NOTHING BUT WEAPONS!" I hear Finnick shout.
"SAME HERE!"
Then I see him. Gloss Lilac. Barrowling towards me.
Gloss' POV:
My guess is that Everdeen doesn't trust me, because when I run towards her, she shoots me in the shin with an arrow. Well, bitch, I was just going to ask to be allies! Calm down Gloss, you have to ask her. She loads another arrow when I yell, "Wait!" and she hesitates as I limp up to her. "I want to be a part of your alliance."
"Why? You have the Careers!" She yells.
"And I don't want to be with them! When it comes down to it, Enobaria and Brutus will not hesitate to send a sword or a spear through my chest."
She takes a few long seconds to answer, but in the end she says yes. "Finnick!" She calls. "We got another ally!"
Finnick Odair jogs around the corner of the cornucopia and smiles at me. "Well that's amazing," His smile fades. "Mags found Peeta, c'mon!"
Katniss and I follow Finnick around the corner and down a sandstrip to Mags, finding Peeta having a fist fight with some guy in the water. Finnick volunteers to save him so he jumps in, swims to Peeta, and kills the guy fighting him. When they get back to shore, Peeta looks at me, his jaw set.
"Why's he here?" He gestures to me.
"He's our ally." Finnick says.
"C'mon, we have to get out of here, Cashmere, Brutus, and Enobaria will be pissed that I left the Alliance, and I don't want to be here when they do." Finnick nods and we run away from the Cornucopia.
