The princess was trapped up above high in her tower. It was only 300 metres above the ground but it may as well have been an infinity. The mote was deep. She could've jumped if she wished. "Alas what was the point?"

Where was there to go?

What was there to see?

Life was so inspiring, boring. Even the idea of a perfect prince seemed boring to her now. Predictable! Her expectations were so high that now not even a angel sent high from heaven above could've met them. A white horse crafted with swan features and lionally courage could've expected more than a glancing sigh. Yet she would still wait because what more was there to do? It's where her parents abandoned her for being so desastordly ugly and cursed. No one would love her until she could get married to her perfect true love. That's what they told her at the age of 12 when they locked the door. They sent the dragon after she tried escaping a few dozen times. She wasn't meant to test the knights courage as everyone thought rather she was meant to keep her locked inside the tower. Safe and secure. What rubbish! Life was about risk and excitement.

That's why once Fiona got over the initial shock of an ogre rescuing her she was relieved. Fiona decided long ago she would've never been happy with a dulled up prince and his blushing white stallion. Her heart lied with a gross ogre and his annoying donkey.
