SURVIVORS

DISCLAIMER

Tie-in to my version of Dream Masters, explaining how Nancy survived. And in certain parts of NOES, Joey had a teardrop tattoo underneath his left eye. I thought it was cool, so he has it in my story. Uses some lines from NOES. Belongs to Wes Craven and New Line Cinema, even the way she survives. I got the idea of Kristen sensing Krueger from her line "He's heavy in the halls."

"Nancy," they all heard a voice say.

"Daddy?" Nancy asked in confusion. What was he doing here? She, Joey, Kristen, and Kincaid watched as the man appeared in sparkles of gold light.

"I've crossed over, Princess," Lt. Thompson said as Nancy and Kristen came into the room. Kirsten stared. Something was wrong here. It didn't feel right.

"'Crossed over'?" Nancy repeated. He was dead? She began to walk towards him, but Kristen quickly grabbed her arm.

"That's not your father. It's Freddy," she whispered.

"Kristen---" Nancy's voice trailed off indecisively. She knew the young girl could sense the nightmare man, but didn't want to believe it.

"Princess, I couldn't leave without telling you how sorry I am for everything I've done," Lt. Thompson continued.

"Oh, Daddy, I---" Nancy began. Then, she cut herself off when she saw faint flashes of red and green in the man's sleeve jacket.

"Nice try, Krueger," she told him. With a roar, the man reverted to his natural form.

"Bad little piggy to spoil the surprise," he spat at Kristen. Then, with a wave of his hand, the door closed. Then, he lunged at the girls.

"Kristen, look out!" Nancy screamed, pushing her out of the way. Kristen watched in horror as the man's razors sliced through the older woman's abdomen.

"NO!" she shrieked. She did a series of flips and kicked him away. Krueger chuckled and gestured for her to try again. Kristen charged him, but was knocked back. As she scooted backwards, she could vaguely hear pounding on the door behind her. She whimpered as the man advanced on her.

"You're mine now, little piggy," he sneered, brandishing his glove.

"No!" Nancy cried. Before he even knew what was happening, Nancy had grabbed him from behind and sank his glove into his chest. The man cried out and threw the woman off of him. She rolled on the floor, ending in Kristen's lap.

"Nancy," Kristen said in concern.

"I'm okay," Nancy assured her, pressing her hand against the wound. The door banged open.

"Nancy!" Joey shouted, as he and Kincaid rushed to them.

"I'm okay. I'm okay," Nancy said.

"What on Earth?" Max asked. He knelt down by Nancy who had blood seeping through her shirt. He quickly pressed buzzer.

"I'm okay. It's over now," Nancy said weakly.

"You just hold on girl," Max stated as Kristen and Kincaid woke up and two nurses came in. In the intensive Care Unit, Joey's eyes flew open.

"Joey!" Dr. Simms cried in surprise. The boy made motions as if to remove his breathing tube. "No, no, no, no, no. We need to keep this in," she told him. He made writing motions. She grabbed her clipboard off of the desk and gave it to him. He wrote on it and then showed her the words: NANCY. CHECK NANCY. "That woman is here?" she queried, standing up furiously. She hurried out of the room and was surprised to see the woman being wheeled towards the operating room.

"What on Earth happened?" she wondered.

"She saved us. She saved us all," Kristen answered. Dr. Simms stared at them, unsure of what to say. Days later, Nancy, Neil, Kristen, Kincaid, and Joey stood in front of a group of graves. They stared at the names: Phillip, Jennifer, Taryn, and Will.

"We got him, you guys. Krueger's gone," Joey assured. They all put a single flower at each grave, and walked away together.
