Ring, Ring
Heeello?
Hello, am I speaking to Jane Clare?
Ahh, yes. With whom am I speaking?
This is the city hospital of Austria. I am so sorry but I have to inform you, that your boyfriend had a car accident. We need you to come to the hospital….
A flight attendant went through the seats, to check if everyone had the seatbelt locked and if their chairs are in an upright position. I tried to dry my sweaty palms on my jeans while rubbing them the third time up and down my waist. But it didn't seem to work. A few seconds after that, my hands already were shiny again and I repeated the process.
I stared out of the window and saw the London Heathrow Airport. It was already 8 pm so the only thing I saw, were the lights, which made the airport look really pretty. The plane now hit the ground and for a second my body shook. I could hear the other passengers getting ready, excitement was in the air.
I remained seated and waited. The plane was almost empty when I decided to get up and leave as well. Even though the time has passed and it was already 9.30 pm, the airport was still crowded and busy people were running through the big halls. But my only concern was, finding the baggage reclaim. When I finally managed to find it I carefully looked at the baggage that went past. A blue one came got my attention.
I tried to find a way through the people standing in my way. I reached for the old blue bag when suddenly a second hand with lots of bracelets on it, grabbed it before me. When I looked up I saw a rather good looking boy holding my bag. His green eyes met mine and I have to admit he was rather good looking but I also have to say that I didn't really care about it. I was still tired from the flight and apart from that my last weeks haven't been the best ones.
"Excuse me, but I think that's mine" I said wile pointing to the bag in his hand. "Sorry but I think you're wrong I-" I cut him off annoyed. Quickly I zipped the bag open and..."I don't think it is yours. Otherwise you would have a red bra and that on the other hand would be quite interesting" I said sassy while grabbing my suitcase. His cheeks now had a reddish colour. "I am so sorry" was the last thing he said before finding a big interest in his shoes. "Aha" was the only thing I said, not very keen for a conversation. So I just left the airport as fast as I could and tried to get a taxi.
A friendly taxi driver stopped and I quickly told him the adress that I had scribbled down on a little peace of paper, before I quickly entered the taxi because it started to rain. I already got my keys out of my handbag and now I fumbled with them in the backseat of the taxi. My second cousin once lived in London so when he heard that I wanted to move to London, he gave me his old flat as a place to live. My family is a bit richer, it has always been like this, so I wasn't that surprised when the taxi drove me to the richer area in London. After an hour drive, I finally arrived. My flat was on the 5th floor, so I was rather thankful that the taxi driver offered me to carry my luggage... I turned the key and I heard a small noise coming from the door. I didn't open it right away, I still needed some time to realise that now my new life has begun...
