I love you Gwen-san
"We are gathered here today to morn the loss of a life cut tragically short."
Ash could not believe she was here hearing those words.
"Gwendolyn Tennyson."
It was a beautiful sunny day. Everyone there was in there best. Birds were singing the sky was blue. Friends family and even Charmcaster was there. It would have been nice. If Gwen was not laying there in a casket, life was so unfair. Ash could remember Gwen's last day.

Some mouse-brain was blowing up buildings around town it seemed to be easy but he detonated one last bomb before the ten year old heroine and a dragon stopped him. Gwen was hit with a bit of falling rubble. Hard. Ash managed to fly her to the hospital but.
"There is nothing more we can do." The doctor said. "She might make it but this is probably goodbye."
Ash rushed to her partner "I'm so sorry." She meowed as she threw her arms around her.
"Not you're fault Ash." Gwen said she was pale and sounded weak
"Gwen-san I'm just worried. You might never know how I really feel."
"Tell me now."
"Gwen-san I love you. Not just as my partner. But I wish you could be my mate."
"I will be Ash as soon as I'm better." She said sounding weaker. "I promise."
She could not keep that promise she died that night with Ash by her side.
After the ceremony Ash was in the rustbucket crying on Gwen's bed.
"Hey Ash." Charmcaster said coming in "I'm so sorry."
"It's you're fault Charmcaster." Ash growled her fur bristled "If you did not show her that she could do magic she would be safe at home."
"If you didn't come to Earth you would not be there either." The white haired woman replayed.
"Being mad at each other is not going to bring Gwen-san back." Ash meowed "I'm sorry."
"I know I'm sorry. I am going to reform." Charmcaster said. "Its what she would have wanted."
Soon Ash was back to sulking on the bed. Ash could still smell Gwen's scent. "I wish I could have stopped it."
"So do I goofball." Gwen's voice said.
Ash looked around.
"Up here!" Ash looked up and saw Gwen floating in mid air.
"Gwen-san how?"
"I'm a ghost now."
Ash lowered her head. "I'm sorry Gwen-san I should have been able to save you."
"It's OK," She said floating down to Ash's level. Gwen lifted Ash's head. "You could not have stopped it. And being dead is not so bad. It's not the way we wanted but, nothing can stop me from being with you. Not even this."
"Gwen-san."Ash purred. Gwen kissed her partner on the lips.
"Love always finds a way."
Ash awakened, it was still dark she looked beside her bed and Gwen was still okay. But she was not sleeping soundly. Ash leaped on to Gwen's bed.
"Gwen-san are you all right?"
"No you're dead Ash" She said in her sleep. Ash licked her cheek.
Gwen quickly awakened "Ash you're alive?"
"Chu, but I had the most horrible dream. That you died."
"I had a nightmare were you died too. I hated it." The redhead replied "Ash I want you know I love you. I don't care that were partners."
"I love you too Gwen-san"
The two kissed. Ash nuzzled against Gwen's body feeling warm. Smelling Gwen's perfume Ash easily fell asleep.
