Morning dawned over Caduceus USA and that made Sidney Kasal feel nothing but relief. He had a foster daughter whom he loved like his own. Her name was Emily and she was now 11 years old. Emily was very familiar with Caduceus and it's internal work. She always had admired the people in it. Cybil had indeed rose to the task of being an aunt to one of the most quiet and shy girls the building had ever seen. Emily had been aware of GUILT and it's pandemic, but she was lucky to never have been infected. She valued her life and always knew to be grateful for each day she had.
At the moment, Cybil was teaching Kari and Emily about some simple programs they could run and help complete for Sidney."So we can help update charts now?" Kari was very excited for this part of the job. Cybil nodded and chuckled as Kari jumped right in. Emily seemed to be studying her notes. "Come on Emily. You have to update one too," she pleaded.
"I'm sorry Kari. Really busy doing something for dad right now," she apologized. Cybil looked over the tablet that Emily was using and rolled her eyes. "Okay yes I'm doing some of Victor's dirty work in puzzle solving. These puzzles are a little fun," she admitted.
"Well then you're already getting to contribute. Dr Niguel is mainly responsible for the new medicines we develop around here," Cybil chuckled. Emily smiled and continued her puzzles until she heard a knock. "Good morning Sidney."
"Good morning Cybil. Did you take the girls for their normal," he began before Emily threw a spare cushion at him. "That's a yes then. They both still coming up negative?" Cybil nodded at that and he sighed in utter relief. With PGS on the loose, he feared about potentials for new GUILT outbreaks. He always worried about Emily and the chances of infection. Emily's biological parents had both died due to GUILT, which is why Sidney took her in. Her father died to Tetarti and her mother to Kyriaki. Sidney swore that Delphi would pay for what they did and he believed they had.
"Relax Sidney. If Emily had come up with a positive Chiral reaction she'd have been sent to Derek right away," she promised her brother-in-law. Sidney nodded and noticed she was heavily looking at her tablet. "Victor asked her for some help with medicinal puzzles," she explained.
"It's not that. Emily should you really be looking at a screen? You said you hadn't been feeling well this morning. It might be best to be resting on your little pullout in my office," he warned. As he saw Emily's focus he chuckled. "I know you like helping when you can but you need to rest," he chuckled as he took her tablet when she finished the final puzzle. She had been quick. Cybil smiled and helped Sidney get her to stop working and into his office.
"Dad I'm fine really. I was a little nauseous," she chuckled. Sidney shook his head and covered her up as she curled into her pillow. "I'm only sleeping so I don't get my head bit off by uncle Greg," she warned and Sidney had to snicker at that one. His brother was quite strict on his niece.
"Good. Especially since he's making your favorite for dinner tonight," he chuckled. Sidney Kasal and Greg Kasal had a large mansion now and they loved living together. It gave Kari and Emily a playmate. She smiled and laid down quietly finally. Sidney had to smile at that and kept his work as quiet as possible. "Don't you worry Emily. You'll get some more work done soon." He knew that Emily loved doing puzzles and helping Caduceus when she could.
