Liotta Ragala:

I decided to go into law enforcement when I was fourteen, just so that I wouldn't have to follow my father's footsteps and join the military. My mother on the other hand worked for the FBI and I knew that if I stayed long enough as a cop, I could eventually get a job at the FBI. However my plans changed when half my department got laid off and I was one of the cops that no longer had a job. My mother had retired from being an FBI Agent when she was 65, two years ago.

I had decided to move in with my mother so as not to get behind on rent and it was working out perfectly fine. She still had contacts within the FBI and said that she would ask them if they would give me a shot and let me apply. The applying part never happened. As soon as my mother asked if the FBI would give me a shot, they called my cell and asked if they could meet with me. One of the Agents that was doing the interview was Agent Tobias Fornell, whom I knew to be a long time friend of one Leroy Jethro Gibbs of the NCIS.

As a Detective in DC, I had worked closely with the NCIS team on few cases after our paths had crossed. NCIS was a team I had never figured I would get on to because the team members were so close knit that they almost seemed like a family. FBI on the other hand, was a branch I figured I could make my way in because I was the daughter of a retired FBI agent, one who, during her time had helped take down six of the worst criminals in the world. My mother was a legend in the FBI because of how fast she had been when she was a younger agent. I guess they figured that she had passed the part about being fast to her only daughter and that daughter would be good for something.

Like I said, I never applied to be within the FBI. They set up a time for us to meet and I went to that meeting. Two weeks later, I was undercover with a set of Bank Robbers. My cover: pissed that the DC police had laid me off. I wasn't pissed that I had been laid off, but to keep the persona going, I had gotten ahold of some old buddies of mine on the force and told them what was going on with the permission of the FBI. DC police knew that they had one of their own undercover with this deadly gang of robbers but for the time being, they weren't able to do anything.

Too bad I never saw the bullet that had my name on it coming towards me from the leader. Somehow he had found out that I really wasn't one of them and that's how everything had gotten so bad within the last day or so. Being under for nearly three months had told me that most people hadn't gotten this far with the group. Other Undercovers had been shot or disposed of immediately after being found out. The leader had something far worse for me.

He made me apart of the next robbery and would say that I had gotten in the way of the bullet that was meant for the manager. Too bad I had a plan of my own…
