I kneeled down and placed the daisies on her grave, as I brushed the dead leaves and moss off her grave and headstone.

It read:

Aged: 26

Born November 1, 1342

1342-1368

"Here lies the hero who saved all of light and dark."

Her name was cracked and smudged

I smiled at the bitter-sweet memories of our adventures together. She, fighting twilight beasts and I, watching from her shadow and riding her back when she wished to be in her beast form.

"Link, I miss you. I miss you so much." I said as salty drops fell from my eyes as my smile turned into a pained frown.

After I had left and destroyed the mirror, Prince Zel and I still had a way to communicate. I visited whenever Link wasn't near. Why? Because I was to big of a coward to face her. Not after I shattered her heart like I did the mirror.

Zel informed me about her, and how she wasn't as lively and spry as she used to be. I refused to see her, even though Zel pleaded with me.

Not long after, she was on her death bed, dying from the years of not eating correctly and practically starving herself.

I remember the day when I finally mustered enough courage to face her. She was sitting in one of the hospital cots and had her head down as she fiddled with the medicine drip.

~O~O~O ~

"You know, you'll make things worse if you screw with it." I said as I leaned against the door frame. Trying to look cool and collected, even though on the inside my mind screamed for me to run away.

"N-Nid?" She asked her voice hoarse from under-use.

"Shhh, Don't strain yourself. I don't want you dying on me." I said as I walked over and sat in the empty chair next to her.

She starred at me, as if she didn't believe what she was seeing. Confusion, Glee, Hurt, and other emotions danced across her eyes as she gazed at me. Crystal blue orbs looking into Fire-red ones.

She's paler then when I last saw her, four years ago. She was skinny, to skinny to be healthy. Her eyes didn't have the same shine in them as they used to, and her hair had dulled to a milky yellow, instead of its usual vibrant Gold.

"What are you doing here? I thought you destroyed the mirror." She said her voice cracked toward at the end of her question, causing her to go into a coughing frenzy. I grabbed the cup on the table beside her cot and handed it to her.

She put the cup to her lips and swallowed twice before handing me the cup again.

"As long as there is Twilight, I can come back." I said soothingly. Oh how I wish I could coddle her and say comforting words, for only her ears to drink in.

She blinked twice before her emotionless face changed. She smiled lightly, making her eyes sparkle with the spark I had seen so many years ago. But, as soon as it appeared, it vanished as her smile turned into a frown.

We sat for hours, catching-up with each other. Sometime during one of our conversations, she moved over enough for me to sit in the cot with her.

We talked until her eye-lids started to droop. Half-asleep, she whispered "Nid….Don't leave me again."

"I promise, I won't." I said as we both layed down. She fell asleep instantly and I stayed up, watched her sleeping form.

The bad thing about this was, I had forgotten how big of a coddler Link was in her sleep.

First story, i hope you liked, and if you couldn't tell, it's mixed genders :P (Link= Girl, Midna/Nid= Boy Zelda/Zel= Boy)
