"Love isn't something you find. Love is something that finds you."
~Loretta Young
This is after 1x16. This is very short, but I didn't want it to be that long. It's about Barry's opinion after that episode. Enjoy!
Waiting for the right one
Barry pushed past a small crowd as he made his way out of Jitters. Caitlin was in the coffee shop talking to Iris and Eddie. She had manage to convince them that all of Barry's odd behavior was to be blamed of his "lightening psychosis", whatever that was. But after his recent experience with time travel, Barry was more than happy to blame his actions on this "illness". All of his attempts to set the future right majorly failed. As far as he was concerned, this day couldn't get any worse.
As he walked along the crowded sidewalk, Barry's thoughts wandered to Iris. He replayed the events that had unfolded at Jitters earlier. Iris told Barry that he was making her a bad guy. That she didn't feel the same way he did. She insisted that she was in love with Eddie, and there was nothing that he could do.
Iris's words had sent bullets through his chest. Whatever had lead to the kiss they shared before the tsunami hit hadn't happened. Barry kicked a rock of the sidewalk, watching as it skidded across the street. He needed to stop acting like it did. While it had happened to him, Iris would never remember it. His leisurely pace only fueled his frustration. Barry ran back home in less than a second. Joe was sitting on the couch, his phone to his ear. He smiled and waved as Barry walked in. Barry faked a smile and lifted his hand to give Joe a half hearted wave. He then proceeded to climb the stairs, not waiting to see Joe's reaction.
Laying down on his bed, Barry made a decision. It was that he would never give up on Iris, no matter what. He knew that she loved him. Maybe she just hadn't realized that yet. No matter what the reason was, Barry would give her time. He'd give her the space she needed. If she loved him, Iris would find out in her time. In her own way. He wouldn't push her. After all, true love conquers all. Barry got up, and proceeded to going back down the stairs. Barry knew that he couldn't ignore Joe, even after everything that happened with Iris and everyone else. True love is timeless. And Barry was willing to wait, no matter how long that was.
I might add more one shots to this. What do you guys think? Don't forget to review. This is my first Flash fanfic. I'm sorry that it's really short. Thanks for reading!
