(Please do keep in mind all actions in this fanfiction take place before they meet cloud.)
Sunkus side:
I laid myself down for sleep about 4 hours ago. It seemed like forever I was trapped in that dream. It wasn't a dream though. The dream was about my death. "Wake your lazy ass up!" I hear Barret's voice booming through the nearly empty train. I decided to sit myself up so he wouldn't yell anymore. Which to my surprise worked. "You were asking about your pay 4 hours ago." he said in a surprisingly happy tone. "After this next mission you'll get your pay" his smug laugh mad me a bit pissed, but not completely angry. I only looked at him and responded with a nod as I stood to my feet. "So where are we headed to this time boss?" Barret then turned to me and yelled "You forgot where our next mission was already!?" I could pretty much feel the anger coming from his voice. "Of course your lazy ass wouldn't!" he slammed his gun hand into the wall of the train making me jolt up a bit. "You know. I already told you I forget easily" I said in a clumsy way, which obviously only mad him more angry. "Still you don't have to be so lazy! I pretty much plan out all these missions. With some help from Biggs and Jessie." just as he said her name she came through the train door. "Heya boss! We're arriving our destination soon." she looked at me and smiled "Well morning Sunku." I returned the smile and spoke "At least someone knows how to treat someone that just woke up." I let out a soft laugh that was quickly cut off by Barret. "This is no joke! Just because you've helped AVALANCHE so much doesn't mean you can slack off!" After he said that the check point went off. We were a bit surprised by this meaning we'd have to fight our way off the train. Some SOLDIER busted through one of the train doors "There they are! Open fire!" They started to fire at us. So I quickly drew my katana and blocked the bullets from the rest of the team. "Get outta here!" I yelled to them. To my surprise they all listened. The only not so surprising part was Barret stayed and fought. "There aint no way I'm leaving someone behind." he started to fire at the SOLDIER. I stood there doing my best to block the bullets. After Barret finished the ones distracting us we quickly fled to the top of the train. We saw Jessie waving us to come over. Barret headed off in that direction yelling at me "Don't slow down!" I followed him only to be cut off by a sharp pain in my chest. It was a SOLDIER blade. Just barely missing my heart. "SUNKU!" they all yelled. I almost dropped my katana, but tightened my grip to kill whoever stabbed me. As I swung my blade around the SOLDIER quickly pulled his sword from my body and blocked the katana. "H-How..." I said in a weak voice, a river of blood leading from my mouth. "Y-You guys.. W-Were never this skilled." I then heard something land behind me. I turned to see Rufus the son of President Shinra standing there with his shotgun pointed at me. "Checkmate." was what he said when he fired.
AVALANCHES side:
We could only stand there and watch. "B-Boss... He was.. Killed." I said stuttering. Biggs then ran passed me to go and try saving him to be stopped by Barret. "It's too late Biggs. There is nothing we can do... We'll have to continue our mission.." I could see a hint of sadness in Biggs eyes. We from there rushed to our mission... It's been a year since that incident occurred. We have a new recruit. More of a mercenary then recruit, but he's an EX-SOLDIER. His name is Cloud... He strangely reminds me of Sunku...
