This is set two years from now. Macca and Cass have broken up because he hit her again and now Cass is back in the bay trying to steal Ric off her best friend Maddie…..
What will happen? By the way Belle and Lucas aren't together but Dayna and Drew are together (Dayna is my character so you have to read 'Drews New Lover' to know who she is…. Basically she's the daughter of Leah's friend and she comes to stay with Leah and that and then her and Drew get together. Oh and Sally isn't stabbed as well)
Cass pulled up to the diner carpark in her snazzy pink convertible that Macca had bought her for her eighteenth birthday. She shuddered just remembering Macca. She did love him of course she did but he had promised! He had promised he wouldn't hit her again. Maddie and Sal and all the others had been right. Cass wiped the tear from her eyes and straightened her clothes. Her first stop was the diner, where probably she'd see a couple of her friends. Then she had to go back to Sal's to see Sally and Ric and Mr Stewart (Alf). Thinking of Ric made her smile. He did make her happy. Not quite as happy as Macca made her but at least she knew Ric would never hurt her.
As she got out of her car her ring dropped onto the concrete. It was the engagement ring Macca had given her. Yes, they had been engaged when he hit her.
As she bent down to pick it up she thought about it. She didn't need Macca so she didn't need the ring, even though it was really gorgeous. She shrugged and put it in her pocket. She didn't want to just leave it there but she didn't want to wear it either.
She walked slowly into the diner.
Her heart skipped a beat. Maddie and Ric were sitting in a booth together, laughing together.
She had known they were together but it didn't bother her before because she had Macca. But now she wanted Ric more than anything else.
Cass took a deep breath and approached them.
"Ric, Mad." She said softly.
"Cass! What are you doing back?" cried Maddie, jumping up to hug Cass.
"It was Macca." Cass said sadly, sitting opposite Ric.
"He didn't hit you did he?" he gasped.
"Yeah." Cass admitted softly.
"Guys I really don't want you to feel sorry for me or anything or say bad stuff about Macca. I just want to forget about him and get on with my life, okay guys?" she added quickly as Ric and Maddie gasped.
"If that's what you really want." agreed Maddie.
Ric stared at Cassie.
"Look, Cass, you should tell the police, he assaulted you!" he cried.
"Ric, Cass said she wants to forget about it. It's her choice." Maddie insisted.
"Okay. But, Cass, if you need to talk about it, I'm always here." Ric said grinning.
"Thanks heaps. It really means a lot to me." Cassie smiled at Ric.
"So…. We haven't seen you in over a year. Wanna hang out?" Maddie asked.
"Yeah okay." Cassie agreed.
"I can drive now. Macca bought me this really gorgeous convertible." Cass told them.
"Wow. Ric and I bought a black sports car to share." Maddie explained.
"Share? How can you share a car?" Cass laughed.
"We live together now." Maddie told Cass.
Cass gasped.
"I thought you were taking your relationship slow and all that." She said coldly.
"No, haven't you heard, we're getting married."
