A tall, muscular bald man strode through a door, which slid back into a closed position as he neared the center of the room. He tapped on the edge of a console as he looked around the part of the ship he found himself in. Several Bed were around in rows to one side of the room, at the other was a cylindrical room with displays on two of the walls and a chair in the center. Two glass walls at either side allowed him to see into the room and across into another space occupied with storage spaces and another door. At the far end of the area he was a single bed in the center of another cylindrical chamber. The man announced to a person not present in a sounding and ordering voice.

"Computer, activate the Emergency Medical Holographic Program."

"Please state the nature of the Medical Emergency." A short plump man appeared in the center of the room, announcing the preprogrammed phrase to the person who had activated him. The EMH wore the same gray uniform as every Starfleet Officer wore, his specific uniform had a teal to indicate that he was part of the medical staff. His head was adorned with hair surrounding a bald patch in the center. He turned to face the man who stood next to him, who was staring at him with seeming contempt. A quick database access along with a glance immediately dissolved the mystery of his would-be patient/assistant.

"Captain Adams, are there any medical problems." A tone of annoyance was in the EMH's voice, having noticed the glare directed at him.

"No. I'm just looking around my new ship."

"Well, if I'm not needed I'll just turn myself off." The Doctor said this in a matter-of-factly way, attempting to hide his annoyance. "Why bother me with important matters, just turn me on whenever you come in. I'm a doctor, not a doormat."

"Wait a moment." The Captain hesitated, though quickly continuing as he resumed his usual air of authority. "Tell me your technical specifications."

"Okay. I suppose that's something I can do." The Doctor made a start at reciting another preprogrammed phrase, not undispleased about having something else to do other than serve as another piece of furniture.

"I am a Mark V, Medical Holographic Program. Designed for use in most, if not all medical procedures aboard the Akira-Class Starship, the USS Fahrenheit." The Hologram said this with apparent pride. "My maximum operation time is between 20 Thousand and 35 Thousand Hours. I am also equipped to move throughout this entire ship and to other ships equipped with Holo-emitters."

"Thank you Doctor." The Captain thanked the Hologram with an almost insincere tone. "Computer, Deactivate the EMH."

"Wait, Perhaps you should leave me on to-" Uncourteously, The Doctor was cut of in the middle of his sentence. Adams continued around the sickbay, picking up a hypospray to examine it. He placed it back down haphazardly and unceremoniously before turning around and exiting the same way he came. He took one backwards glance into the medical bay as he left, muttering something indiscernible about rude receptions. Allowing the doors to slide shut with it's trademark, mechanical sound.
