ATTENTION: this fic contains *spoilers*
This fic plays off of the yin-yang kind of relationship between Kylo Ren and Rey (a little bit of light in Kylo and a light bit of dark that is in Rey and the balance that is the force). It portrays an extension of what what shown in The Last Jedi in the scene between Rey and Kylo. I hope you guys fell in love with it the way that we did. This is our first serious fic so please let us know if you like it ^_^
The light saber lay limply at Rey's side. "Come with me." Kylo's words resounded. The words bounced around pounding at the walls of her mind. The internal conflict was too much to bear. She wanted so badly to go with him. She remembered that moment on the coast where the darkness beckoned her. She knew that if she said yes she wouldn't be able to resist the dark forces building up within him. All that hot blood running through his veins, she could feel it. "I know what you're thinking. I feel it too." Kylo said. The force between them was strong. He was standing in front of her now. "But I can't Kylo. It would start another revolution, and the Resistance-" He put his hand to her mouth. "Shhh. It's just us now. We can do this together, forget about them."
"Kylo-" She turned away. He looked at her, viewing her radiance even through her demur. "You think you're a nobody because of you're parents, but you don't have to be." His eyes pined at her soul. "You matter to me." He touched her face with his gloved hand. Her fragile hand reached up to meet the rough gentleness of his. The tenderness of their touch lingered. "Ben, I-" Her heart ached with every beat. She looked away, "I can't, I don't know what to-" "You don't have to say anything" In their closeness, he ran his hand softly along her side. She dropped the unlit saber. He pulled her into his dark embrace. His lips meet hers with an unprecedented passion fueling the light burning inside of her. The initial shock had worn off as he pulled back to look her in the eyes. "Have you changed your mind?" he asked with a smirk.
"You're right Kylo, I am not part of this war, I am not a soldier, a machine to be used. You and I, we are a universe far away. I want to forget." She said kissing him again. They parted from each other's lips, their foreheads together in deep longing. She closed her eyes and felt a parting in his darkness. A glimpse of warm sunlight in a stormy sky. Just for a moment, but maybe it was enough. "Kylo join us." she said. "I know you have it in you to change. Please."
Kylo backed away from her. "You're resisting again." He twisted his powerful shoulders towards the window. "You really think those people out there are more important than what we could become? I know you want this Rey. I can feel it. You felt it. You saw our future. The force connected us for a reason. We're going to rule the galaxy." Tears streamed down Rey's face. "I don't know what I want anymore." He took her in his arms and held her. "I don't want another First Order, I just want greatness with you by my side." The ivory of her cheek pressed into the blackness of his cloak. The connection and compassion that they felt for each other was undeniable. But she couldn't stay, she had to get back to save the Resistance if not for Leia, for Finn. She pulled away from him, and rushed towards the exit. Rey put her hand on the doorway and turned around. "I'm sorry, but I have to go. The Resistance needs me." "Goodbye Rey." He said staring out of the window into the empty space. "Just remember what choice you're making." She saw a tear fall from his face as he clenched his fist. Rey knew what choice she was making, and it hurt her even still. She forced Luke's light saber into her hand as she stepped into the light of the elevator.
