Never underestimate the things you do not understand as compilations run through your head of blessed days before the storm. The momentary relif that a sliver of hope is present to your heart and to change for a woman that has owned you from day one; your vow to her of being someone she'd be proud of. Strange power that has you crumbling in on yourself when it is taken away. An unaffectionate ass that has you wishing you had changed before it was too late.

A single snap decision and you feel the backlash ripple through you moment of peace.

Peter never knew that his actions would cause the woman he loved to leave his side. He threw back the shot of JD with reckless abandon and knew that he had to do something. He remembered all of the smiles and laughter that completed his world. He called to the bartender for another shot.

"No tonight, Pete. You've had enough. Go home and sleep it off." Levi gruffed shaking his head to the lonely cowboy that wallowed at his bar.

With a huff, Pter stood angrily and stalked from the bar to his truck. It was the only thing he had left and was truly his and not theirs. He drove cautiously, due to his high alcohol level.

The moment he made it to the house he felt the tears well up in his eyes. He wasn't angry, he was overcome with grief. His heart felt like it had been ripped in two. He stepped wobbly out of the truck and fell to his knees as a gut wrenching sob made its way through his open mouth. The tears fell in a steady stream as he looked up to the blurry sky.

"God help me here, please?" He cried helplessly to the heavens in a desperate plea. His hands pulled at the base of his hear on his head as he let out another loud sob. "I've spent my whole life getting it wrong. I could really use your help right now."

A hand on his shoulder pulled him from his prayer and up to see his brother crouching beside his broken form. "I can't lose her, Jas." Peter said clearing his throat, but it was to no avail as his voice cracked again.

"Then you know what to do, brother." Jasper said quietly giving him his cellphone. "Call her, Pete. I know she misses you."

Peter's hands trembled as he dialed the familiar number he knew by heart. The three rings were the longest he'd ever had to wait in his life.

"Hello?" Asked the soft voice of the love of his life.

"Bella?" He asked softly with his trembling voice.

"Peter? What's wrong? Are you okay? Baby, I'm sorry. I shouldn't have left like that." She began to ramble before he stopped her.

"Baby! Bella, it's okay, I'm okay. I just had to talk to you. To apologize for everything I've done. I'm sorry for pushing you away." He said as the sliver of hope from earlier raced back to his heart again. God, please let some love back into her heart. He thought as he sobered up more.

"I'll be there in a minute. JB called and said that Levi had cut you off and sent you home. I promise baby, we'll work through this." Bella said into the phone.

"I love you, Bella." Peter said quietly.

"I love you too, Pete." She said before she hung up to concentrate on the road.

The tears in Bella's eyes were for joy, for once. This man may be a lot of things, but a coward was something she could never call him. She fingered the ring on her left hand and smiled. She was determined to see this marriage through to the end.

Okay so I got bored and decided to write a drabble. That's all this is folks…I know it's hard not to ask questions why, it's just a drabble. Anyway. I own nothing. Song it's based off of is – The Man I want to be – Chris Young
