"Bernard, darling- where are you? Oh, someone, please help me!"
Miss Bianca fights against the rose thorn her purple shawl has caught on, to little success. She and her partner, Bernard, are currently out on a mission- but she suffered a very unfortunate fall off an albatross's back into a rose bush- and now she was stuck fast.
"Bubbling blancmange- don't worry, I've got you!" an unfamiliar male voice replies soothingly and she suddenly finds herself free of the thorn and in a...plush brown paw before she can blink tice.
'It looks like... a teddy bear's paw,' she thinks to herself, staring down at her perch, 'but it can't be...'
She is on the lush, green grass amidst the daisies and dandelions before she even thinks to struggle.
The, paw, it turns out, belonged to a brown...as ridiculous as it seemed, alive teddy bear, wearing a red suit and cape. Although the situation itself is very unbelievable, she sees immediately that he has no ill intention towards her.
After all, he did rescue her from the thorn- and a ripped shawl.
"Are you alright, Miss Mouse?" The teddy asks her anxiously, kneeling down to her level- or as much as he could, anyway.
"Yes, I am darling, thanks to your kindness," Miss Bianca answers smoothly, with her famous, charming smile. She has met some pretty weird characters in her time, and she decides to not dwell too much on the fact that she is talking to a talking, living teddy bear.
"You're very welcome," he answers warmly, giving her a warm and friendly smile. "What's your name?"
"Miss Bianca, of the Rescue Aid Society," She informs him politely, holding out a paw without thinking about how awkward it would be for them.
She is surprised, therefore, when her strange new acquaintance cups her paw gently in his. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Bianca. My name is Superted." The bear replies, equally courteous and smiling cordially at her, before asking "Are you alone, Miss Bianca?" wondering who this 'Bernard' fellow that his new acquaintance had been seeking.
"Oh, no darling-I'm investigating a case with my partner, Bernard." The white mouse explains, looking up at her rescuer. "The kidnapper's name is..." Here she trails off.
Despite being one of the best mice in the Rescue Aid Society, she does have a habit of forgetting names that are not easy to remember. She remembers Texas...was it Percy? Peter? ...Petunia? No, none of them sound right. Plus she was certain it was a male kidnapper she was seeking, so where had Petunia come from?
"Well, I'm investigating a case too." Superted tells her. "My friend Spotty and I are trying to locate a kidnapped child named Maisie Warren. Her kidnapper is none other than my arch enemy Texas Pete!"
'That's the one!' Miss Bianca realises to herself, and then she wonders if Superted and his mysterious confederate would be willing to accept the assistance of two capable mice.
"Perhaps Bernard and I could help you!" She suggests. "We are working on the same case together."
Are you sure?" He asks.
"Of course- Bernard and I are experienced in assisting kidnapped children." She explains.
"Alright- you two can join us," Superted agrees, with an affirmative nod. "I just need to find Spotty." He sighs in annoyance.
"Come to think of it, darling, where did Bernard get to?" Miss Bianca wonders aloud.
