"And then the Old Father appeared on Sleihpneer, his eight legged horse and saved Asgard from war with the Frost Giants. My love?" asks Loki softly while caressing a white arm

"Yes, my Lord?" answers Sigyrn, waking up from her daydreaming

"Are you paying any attention at my story?" he asks again

"Yes, my Lord" she answers

"You know I don't want you to call me 'my Lord'. I am not your Lord, I am your husband. Tell me, dear, what troubles your mind and shades your eyes?"

"Your plan, my love" she says softly.

The evening is warm. The door that leads to the balcony is wide open and the light curtains dance lazily with the warm wind that blows into the room from the gardens, a wind that smells like jasmine and lotus flowers. The young couple is laid on a giant bed among dozens of soft and puffy pillows. She is wearing an almost see-through, blue, sleeveless dress and silver jewels at her wrists, fingers and neck. Her golden hair is braided with white flowers and fall on her shoulder. He is wearing a white unbuttoned shirt and a pair of black soft pants and is looking at his wife. She is laid in her elbows and stares into his jade green eyes.

"Stars of my night sky, come and lay with me" he asks.

Sigyrn crawls on the pillows until she reaches his open arms. Her head is automatically placed in the edge between his neck and his shoulder and the rest of her body stays calm and loose on his chest and on the pillows. He starts playing with the wedding ring on her finger. It's a simple silver ring with a sapphire shaped as a drop of water entangled with the metal in the middle of the ring. He ordered it for her because they first met at the fountain of the garden, under the apple tree his mother, Frigga, loved so much. He proposed her a few weeks later.

"Tell me now, don't you want to be Queen?" he asks

"No" she whispers "I'm already married to you, my love, I'm a princess. I had nothing and now I have you. It's all I need, all I want"

He leaves his place quickly, making her fall. He sits at the edge of the bed, staring out of the room, in the night sky. He feels his wife's arms around him, but he doesn't change his position.

"I want to make you Queen, I want you to be happy" he says

"But I am happy. And so will be our son" she answers. Loki turns around. Sigyrn is smiling at him, her palm softly pressing against her belly. He gets up, a smile raises the edges of his lips. He takes his wife in his arms and they dance around the room. Sigyrn wraps her arms around his neck and laughs with him. He stops and places her down.

"I love you, you hear me? And now I have one more reason to take the throne. Our son will be king" he says. Her face looses its color at once and she makes two steps back. She wraps her arms around her body.

"I didn't tell you to encourage you, Loki" she whispers. The God of mischief looks at her in the eyes at the sound of his name. His wife would never call him with his name. And now she did. Maybe because she can understand the danger of the situation. Maybe she is afraid. Maybe she doesn't love him anymore.

"Loki…" she started. Here it is again, his name. "I need you to know that I love you and I won't stand in your way if you decide to make your plan true. But know that I will not leave Asgard. This is my home and I wouldn't leave for anything" she says. She makes two steps towards him, kisses his lips softly and leaves the room.
