A/N - I do not know how long this will end up. I just really wanted to write a Marauders Era Multi-Chapter.
Thank you Emily for beta-ing.
Prologue
Death is inevitable. It comes for us all eventually. Until it does though, we rely on having the best reputation possible, and living up to the expectations of others.
At seventeen, our reputations and expectations are what we base our future on.
James Potter wasn't worried. He was known for being the best chaser at Hogwarts, and being the ring leader of the infamous Marauders. He was expected to become a professional Quidditch player, or a skilled Auror.
Lily Evans was known for being the best in their year. She excelled in everything, and only needed a little help in Transfiguration. Like James, she was expected to become an Auror, or perhaps a Healer.
Sirius Black was known for being a Marauder, the rebel Black, but also as Hogwarts' resident heart throb. He was one of the beaters or the Gryffindor team, and could go pro. But many expected him to be an Auror.
Marlene McKinnon was what most girls wanted to be. She broke hearts and was skilled in all her subjects. She was expected to become a Transfiguration Specialist at St. Mungo's.
Remus Lupin was the sensible Marauder. He was handsome and dated just like James and Sirius. Smart, sarcastic, but not cocky. He was expected to become an Auror like his friends, or perhaps to teach.
Dorcas Meadows was known for going against the Ravenclaw stereotype. She was intelligent but out going, clever but cheeky. She was expected to be an Auror or Healer or to work in the Ministry.
Peter Pettigrew was the fourth Marauder. Not many really understood why he was included. His main talent was eating. Nobody really expected great things for him.
Our reputations and expectations shape our future. But at seventeen, they affect us more than we realise.
A/N - Please review! The first chapter will be up soon.
