A/N: Good morning, Upper East Siders! CountryxBarbie here. Hey, look. I exist. Bringing you more RP related writing. Y'all know the drill. Read, review and above all - enjoy. Peace and love!
It was late and he was restless, something that wasn't uncommon for Bobby Roode, at least not lately. Looking to his right, a rare but genuine smile crossed his lips as he gazed at his girlfriend. Katie was everything and more to him. She was his world, his soul mate. She meant more to him than anything else in the world - even more than his championship. Sure, he had some moments with his title - moments that Katie wouldn't let him live down. But, his heart beat only for her. No one and nothing else mattered more than her. Katie shifted in her sleep, draping an arm over his torso. That genuine smile was still on his face as he gently pulled her closer to him and kissed the top of her head.
On nights like this, Bobby usually let his thoughts run wild. Kind of like how he was doing now. Holding Katie in his arms, he knew how lucky he was to have. He was rude, an asshole, a douchebag even. But, she still loved him endlessly. There weren't many women that would put up with him or his less than admirable attitude. Except her. She challenged his attitude with one of her own and he loved that. He loved her sass, that she wasn't afraid to smack him or kick him if he went too far. They shouldn't have worked so well, but they did. And he was more than grateful for that.
But, tonight? Other things were crossing his mind. Almost five months together, almost half a year. He wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. Hell, he knew that from the moment he met her. They'd had their downs in the beginning, of course. A certain Scotsman was still a sour subject for the native Canadian. But, they overcame that. Just like they overcame demons from the past. He wanted to marry her one day. He wanted her to be his wife. Was he the marriage type? He wasn't sure. But, at one point the didn't think he was the relationship type. Katie was worth it all. He'd risk everything for her.
Marriage. How would that even go? She at least had friends, people that cared about her. Who did he have? No one. Not unless you counted Katie - or maybe even his title. Bobby sighed, his inner deepest thoughts starting to surface. If he did ever ask Katie to marry, there was only one person he could see as his best man - even now. James Storm. They weren't friends anymore and on the surface? Bobby didn't give a damn. But on the inside, in his heart of hearts? He missed his best friend. He never spoke about it, he didn't even like to think about it. But, on nights like tonight it was inevitable. He sacrificed his best friend all for championship gold.
Was it worth it? On any given day, the answer would've been an obvious yes. Right now? Bobby wasn't so sure. Right now? His inner feelings were telling him that he missed his best friend. Growling under his breath, he pushed those silly thoughts from his head and turned to hold Katie. He was Bobby Roode. He was the TNA World Heavyweight champion. He didn't need friends.
Or did he?
A/N: Enjoyed, oui? Review.
