Zephyr stood there victorious and alive unlike those who had stood against him, now covered in their blood he turned to the fallen fighters commander "What is you name Bull" He asked as he raised his claws
"Adam Taurus and You are Zephyr Nox Eturnus or The Head Hunter I can tell by the how you fight" Adam raised Wilt "Join me in the Black Fang" he said
"I will only join those who can beat me in a single hit as I can kill in one" Zephyr Growled "And I am undefeated"
"As am I" Adam said calmly as he readied Wilt
"I WILL CLAIM YOUR HEAD" Zephyr yelled as he shot towards Adam only for him to disappear as Zephyr stopped he turned to find Adam a few feet in front of where he disappeared however as Zephyr turned he became aware of the deep cut in his side "You're the first to cut me" Zephyr swayed slightly "I will join you" he stood up still as the wound healed and then walked over to his new comrade
Adam returned Wilt to Blush and looked up at Zephyr who stood a good 6 inches taller "Come we have a transport to catch" Adam started to walk off before he heard a chuckle come from Zephyr
"If we need to fly" Zephyr said as Adam turned to face him "Then I can take us" Zephyr finished as his great wings spread to their full length
"It is a long way and you must be blindfolded before you go there" Adam said but thought "He can fly, useful"
I only fly with my wings, Transports are flying death traps, I've brought down enough to know" Zephyr argued
"You wont be attacking this one" Adam said as he walked off
"True" Zephyr said and followed Adam
-One blindfolded flight later-
Adam lead Zephyr through dimly light temple ruins and under crumbling archways till the entered a large antechamber with an ornate steel door in the furthest part of it but as the pair approached a few guards wearing ceremonial armour stepped towards them but instead of stopping them they lined the way to the door that swung lazily open on soundless hinges inside was another corridor with many branching paths, Adam lead them through the tunnels until they reached another door with two heavily armed guards outside it, who order them to stop and identify themselves.
"I am Adam Taurus, Combat Commander" Adam Identified
"The Head Hunter" Zephyr said looking down at the guards
The guards looked from one to the other and opened the door which opened into a large yet modest throne room. Adam walked till he was at the bottom of the steps leading up to the throne where a dark figure sat, their golden eyes glowing in the torch light.
"Who have you brought in to our fold Adam" The voice asked
"I have brought" Adam started
"I am the Head Hunter, Zephyr Nox Eturnus and I am here because I lost my fight with Adam and the condition was if I won I would take his head or if I lost I would join this branch of the White Fang" Zephyr interrupted
"Is what Zephyr said true Adam?" the voice asked
"Yes, High Overseer" Adam replied
The figure raised his hand and a small group of tailors and armour smiths approached Zephyr and as the tailors busied themselves with measurements the armour smiths asked Zephyr what armour he would like but all this activity annoyed Zephyr to the point he unfurled his wings and knocked over the group before picking up both the head tailor, and head armour smith by their throats, "I will get my own apparel unless it is for a slaughter then I already have the equipment" with that he dropped them and walked over to where Adam was standing
"When do we leave" Zephyr asked
"When we have a mission" Adam answered "And you need to play nice with these lot"
"I don't do nice" Zephyr growled in hushed tones
-Time skip of 2 weeks-
"Zephyr you will be joining me and Blake on a mission" Adam called
"Where is the Cat?" Zephyr asked
"She is at the site doing recon" Came the response
-Time skip of a hour or so"
Blake sits on a rock outcropping watching red leaves drift down in the Forest. Adam walks up to her
"Blake, it's time." Adam said having split with Zephyr as he and Blake mixed like oil and water
She slowly turns toward him and nodded "Okay. Will he be joining us"
"Yes, so is the train near?" Adam asked
The camera Blake had set up drifts down to show a train rushing through the forest.
Adam and Blake slide down the hill onto the top of the train while Zephyr lands beside them. Upon boarding it, they enter a car full of AK-130 Androids.
Adam chuckled "Looks like we're gonna be doing this the hard way."
Zephyr roared as his wings furled and he got into a stance
The Androids activate and circle the trio.
Blake stayed quiet but muttered "Don't be so dramatic."
An Android activates the guns on its arms. "Intruder, identify yourself."
Adam responds by cutting the Android in two and he, Zephyr and Blake proceed to completely annihilate the Androids in the car. Eventually, they burst out of the freight car onto a flatcar and encounter a horde of Androids running towards them.
Adam grinned as he heard Zephyr call "Let's do this." They decimated the horde and enter into a second freight car.
Adam opens a box and examines the contents inside. "Perfect. Move up to the next car." he closes the trunk before continuing "I'll set the charges."
Blake asked with a worried voice "What about the crew members?"
"What about them?" Adam and Zephyr responded in unison but with very different tones, Adams voice was level and methodical while Zephyrs was dripping with blood lust
Adam turns his head around and sees a Spider Droid climbing down from the ceiling of the car. Adam moves to fight it. Blake anxiously alerts Adam.
Adam and Blake try to fight it, but it doesn't go so well. Adam goes to grab Blake before she is about to be crushed by the droid's legs but Zephyr grabs to drones leg and with his tail he throws Blake to Adam. "We need to get out of here." Blake says as Adam helps her up.
Eventually the fight moves out of the car onto another flatcar.
Adam calls to the pair "Buy me some time!"
Blake calls back "Are you sure?" while Zephyr simply nod. "Do it!" Came the response
Blake distracts the droid while Zephyr tries to rip the cannons off as Adam readies his next attack. They both fall back to Adam some time later...
Adan, who was now ready ordered them to move. The droid fires a powerful beam. Adam catches the beam with Wilt. As his body starts to glow, the droid jumps toward him. Adam then slashes out with his sword, disintegrating the droid and even affecting the trees in the Red Forest causing their leaves to fly into the air.
As Adam walks back towards Blake, he finds her on a separate train car standing near the connector between the cars while Zephyr was propped up against a small railing. As he reaches out to her...
Blake whispers "Goodbye." And severs the connection and lets the released carts slow down as she lets the rest of the train continue en-route. As she leaves, Zephyr asks Adam if he should bring her back to which Adams slumps against him exhausted from his attack. "Lets go back, we have completed the mission" Adam finally said, 'Hold on then" Zephyr chuckled with no animosity in his deep voice before stretching his wings and using the updraft from the train he took flight, he wanted to soar above the clouds however Adam would pass out so he stopped himself and flew back to their hidden base.
That night Adam couldn't sleep, the betrayal of the woman he loved weighed heavily on him. As he paced the grounds of the base his thoughts were a mess, so much that he sought out Zephyrs cabin which was at the Apex of the site, entering the 'lair' as Zephyr called it Adam was shocked by the sheer amount of bones, blood, and burn marks that covered the room. "Adam druv los hi ko dii staad ahst vulon" Came a deep voice that was not of this world or so Adam thought till Zephyr rose from his bone laden bed, covered only by a piece of cloth draped around his pelvic region. Adam finding a place to sit and looked up "Zephyr have you ever been betrayed?" he asked.
Zephyr sat still for while before answering "Once and it lead to the downfall of my kind. I am one of the two last Dragon Faunus the other is the traitor, my brother. So yes I know the sting of betrayal" he finished.
