Prolouge: Fairytales
( Emily's POV )
My story begins as so many before myself have begun. Once upon a time. But than again, maybe I shouldn't start like that. For my story is so much different than any other fairytale you have most likely read. It isn't like Sleeping Beauty, for I was awake for most of the exciting parts and there is no evil curse on me. It's not like the Little Mermaid, for I assure you I for one and completely human and I will always be. It is also not like Aladdin, no genies, or Cinderella, though I do work very hard at cooking and cleaning and if there was any fairytale I would have picked for my life that would have probably have been it. But no. Out of all the fairytales it is a bit, I suppose, like Beauty and the Beast. Me of course, Emily Hawthorn, being the Beauty. I don't mean to be vain, but I am very beautiful. My long, blackbird hair cascades down my back in thick waves. Copper skin that signifies my heritage on the Indian reservation of La Push. Its been said that my almond shaped brown eyes could charm a werewolf back to human form, I hoping that when the Tribal Elder told me this that it was a compliment.
My people are very big on the Wolf-People, old legends and stuff that were meant to scare little children into doing their chores. "Remember to make your bed or the wolf-people will come and take you away!" I used to believe in them, a lot actually. To the point where I'm still scared of dogs today. Of course it not the only reason. When I was younger, I was actually attacked by a dog, but that another story. Anyway, when I turned twelve I stopped actually believing and just told them as ghost stories on All Hollow's Eve. But I started believing in them again when I was a Senior in High School, around 20 years old. But this time, it wasn't just the old chore trick. Its was real. It was very real. I assure they are real. Just as real as the words you are reading now. Just as real as you and me. Werewolves and Vampires are not just a myth. This is my documentary. You heard the Bloodsuckers side, and they probably pin my wolves as the bad guy, don't they? Like the Big Bad Wolf, or something? Well, this is my side. Their side. Our side.
