The Land Before Time Alternate Ending: Petrie's Death
After the now Gang of Four reunited with their parents; Spike was adopted as Ducky's brother. Tori just got some devastating news that her son Petrie has drowned. The blue flyer was very saddened by this since she also lost her mate several weeks before. Soon enough, she met up with one of her childhood friends. Topsy noticed how sullen she was and decided to see if she was okay.
"Hey there Tori; how are you holding up?" Topsy asked.
The blue flyer shook her head.
"Not so great; Petrie is dead; he was my little boy," Tori said.
Topsy walked up to where the bluye flyer was perched on a low tree branch and sat down.
"I'm sorry for your loss; I know how it feels to lose a child; it's the hardest thing for a parent to experience," Topsy admitted.
Tori looked over at her old friend and smiled.
"I appreciate that, Topsy; I also recall that you lost your wife like I lost my husband during the Great Earthshake," Tori replied.
Topsy nodded. he turned his head away so Tori couldn't see the tear falling from his left eye. However, she was no fool; she knew he was starting to cry since there were tears falling from his right eye.
"I'm sorry; I didn't mean to make you cry," Tori admitted.
Topsy shrugged and wiped his eyes before turning back to face Tori.
"That's okay; you may have lost Petrie; but, as long as you think of the good times you had with him; he's not really gone," Topsy said.
"That's deep; who told you that?" Tori asked.
"My mother told me those words years ago after my brother died; and I never forgot the advice she gave me," Topsy answered.
Tori was now feeling better after talking to Topsy.
"Thanks for listening; I know that both of us have lost loved ones; but, I know that they are watching over us from the Great Beyond," Tori told him.
Topsy nodded.
"If there's anything else you need to talk to me about; I could help you; that's what friends are for; we've been friends since we were hatchlings," Topsy claimed.
Soon enough, they were both smiling. their loved ones maybe gone; but, their emotional wounds would eventually heal.
