Hey! New story! So I first intended to finish DDLC: Save our World! But I have this notebook, It's full of ideas from shows, video games and some books, and I have to say, apart from DDLC, this was my favorite. Not to mention the DDLC story may be over 40 chapters Now, You'll quickly see that this is a self-insert story, an OC, if you will. It was super fun thinking of quirks for characters I created, the only problem I had is creating a title for this story, and I think I really like this one. Anyways… This story will be really Fucking confusing. Like, I confused myself writing out how a chapter will go. I won't tell you for now why it'll be so confusing, but I imagine as chapters progress It'll be easier for me to write, and for you to understand. Ok, I think that's enough for now…
Oh wait! Nevermind, I think I'll do something like this for every story I write, Like I'll write a riddle or some question relating to the original work, and the first person to get the question right will get to have their own character in the story! So for this particular story, a character, any gender would be fine, though a female character would probably be a breath of fresh air, all the characters I made make it a sausage fest and 1A students probably need a new female friend, so a name, and… A Quirk! Specifics vary, like limits and shit would probably be defined later. Ok, so before I leave you with the Question I want to say that If I ever get to the point, Which I probably won't, I will go to the point in which the Manga takes place, I'm not gonna be stopping at the anime. Another quick note, some things are put pretty late in the manga, but take place before the first episode of the anime, you'll know what I'm talking about when we get there.
Also, this story will follow Arnold around, as another student in 1A, kind of a background character from the Anime/manga who happens to be really fucking powerful.
So the Question is: How Does Nighteye's Quirk Work and how is it described as? Hint: It's somewhere between Manga chapters 150-161.
All Characters belong to their respectful owners, very few of them belong to me.
Chapter 1: Origin story
I open my eyes slightly, It's kind of bright, and it's loud. Very loud. That was a really weird dream. But I can't remember what it was about at all. All I remember was that it was really weird. I open my eyes slightly more to find some sort of paper. And a pocket of some sort. I figure out I'm looking at a seat. A plane seat. Yes, I'm on a plane. We're supposed to be going somewhere, It's far away. We're only visiting there, of course. It's supposed to cheer me up, My mom and dad have quirks. They're powerful too. My mom can turn back time on objects, the smaller the object, the further back it can go. My dad's body changes based on how he's feeling. Each emotion has a different ability, like he gets stronger when he's angry or he gets a cheerful aura when he's happy. They both didn't want to be heroes, but they probably could have. But, somehow, I don't have a quirk. My quirk should have manifested by now. My older brother has a quirk. He can turn things into silver by touching them! But they turn to normal after about an hour. He's what's known as a 'Mutation' when a child has a completely different quirk from their parents. It's not fair, really. Why does he have a quirk and not me. I really wanted to be a hero. My brother does too, he says he could save everybody. Big brother can be so cool, His name is Jamie, but he can also be really mean. He laughed when we found out that I don't have a quirk.
"Oh, good, you're up honey, we're landing in about five minutes." I hear my mom say.
"Ugh, sixteen hours on a plane. Sixteen! And we stopped Once. For an hour, but that seemed Waaay too long." I hear my dad say. He wasn't too excited for the trip he tried to talk mom out of it, but she said it was for me, and we went.
"Oh, shut up, we got a good deal on this as well" Mom says.
"We're here! Right? It's so pretty!" I hear Jamie say.
"It is, Why don't you let your brother see?" Mom says.
"Do I have too?"
"Yes, You've been sitting by the window the whole time, let your brother see. NOW." He sighs and allows me to look out of the window. We're above a city, the buildings are white with blue rooftops and look Really pretty.
"Time's up!" He says and pushes me out of the way again, his head filling the window.
"Ladies and gentlemen we will be landing in one minute I hope you enjoyed your flight with us and let me be the first person to tell you, Welcome to Greece, we thank you for using Qatar airways and we hope you use us again." a male voice says.
"Well, we got a cab waiting for us down there, the ride to the hotel will take about ten minutes, give or take a few, where will we be going first?" dad asks.
"How about the art museum? There's lots of cool artifacts there!" Mom suggested.
"Art museum it is then" Dad said. It's getting harder to hear them as the air pushing past the plane gets louder and the plane lands as I feel a BUMP. I start to feel a little sick as the plane starts to slow down and I'm pushed forward in my seat. The plane slows down enough to park at the gate. And a Ding sound is heard. Everybody starts to reach above and grabs their bags.
"Let's wait for a minute for everybody else to thin out, then we'll leave." Mom says
"Good Idea, We got time anyways, It's about four hours till' sunset. I would guess that would take about two hours…"
"HA," Mom interrupted "That'll take at least four, that museum is HUGE, and it's got a lot of really cool pieces in there."
"Okay then, how about tomorrow? We'll need a plan for all five days."
"Yeah, yeah, I know. We'll go to the beach, I heard they're really beautiful, and we'll go to the history museum."
"What is it with you and museums?"
"History is cool, and for the third day there's supposed to be a carnival or fair of sorts, at night, so we'll find out what we'll do until then when it gets to it."
"Ok."
"And on the fourth day, we'll visit the ruins, and look at all the old architecture, and, we'll watch a demonstration on greek heroes, old and new!'
"How can something sound so boring and interesting at the same time?"
"I don't know! Oh, a lot of people cleared out, let's go." She gets up and Starts grabbing our stuff. I myself get up and stretch, but not for long when Jamie pushes me aside and says:
"Faster weirdo, Let's go!"
"Hey, be nice Jamie, we'll get out there soon enough." Mom says
"Okay." he says, kind of reluctantly. We get our stuff from the top of the
Me, Mom, and Jamie sit in the back of a cab while dad sits in the front.
"So, where you from?" The cab driver says in a very thick accent.
" We here from Japan, but we are both originally from the U.S." Dad says to the man.
"Oh, very good. The unbreakable United states and Japan, Home of the heroes. Must be very good heroes." The driver says.
"Ahh, no, we're not heroes, I'm the CEO of a Record label company, and my wife-"
"Don't speak for me!"
"-Runs an antique business."
"Ahh, well, not everybody can be a hero, for all their own reason." he says
I feel a sharp jab to my left side, I look over to see Jamie with a smug look on his face.
"So, to the Hotel, Right?" he asks
"Yes, and after that, we'll be going to the art museum, uhh Ralph."
"Very good, yes Ralph is my name."
There's a little sign in the center, where the radio is, it says:
'Ralph Misko- Driver'
"So, what brings you here to Greece?"
"Just a family trip, besides there's a lot of history here, My wife loves that kind of stuff."
"What did I just say?!"
"She's temperamental too."
"I will turn you back to a monkey!"
"You can't do that."
"Won't stop me from trying!"
"That legitimately scares me."
"It should."
"Well, we are at Hotel, would you like me to help with baggage?" Ralph asks
"No thanks man, We got this, Just wait here, we'll be out in five minutes."
"Very good, I will wait." Ralph said. We pull into a rather large hotel and step out of the cab. Dad grabs most of our stuff out of the cab and we grab our backpacks we had on the airplane.
"Ok guys, I'll go check in, our room number is E-394, just drop our stuff off and we'll be on our way to the art museum."
"Don't tell me what to do." Mom says
"You'dve done it either way."
"Maybe, maybe."
"Stop arguing and let's go!" Jamie says.
"Patience child, it's a virtue, you know." Dad tells him.
"Yeah, Yeah. This place is cool!"
"Just go, it's the E Wing on the third floor."
"Got it!" Jamie says and speeds off.
"Too impulsive that child, here Arnold." Mom hands me a card.
"It's the room key You'll find it, just slide it in the slot and wait for the click."
"Thanks" I reply and start down the hall. I decide to go up the stairs instead of the elevator, It was packed and there were some weird people on there. On the second flight of stairs, I notice the black handrail, has a very distinct silver handprint on it. I guess Jamie went up the stairs too, he often loses slight control of his quirk, turning things into silver. I head up the rest of the stairs, with the occasional silver handprint. On the third floor, I find Jamie down the hall, trying to open the door.
"Idiot"
"What?" I look around but there's nobody else in the hall. Maybe someone in one of the rooms was talking, I don't know.
"Hurry UP" I hear him call from down the hall.
"Hold on" I jog down the hall and meet with Jamie.
"Could you be any slower?"
"Yes" I simply reply and unlock the door. Inside, we're met with a rather large room with two beds.
"I guess we're sharing, Oh, I wanna show you something!" Jamie said. He tosses his backpack on the nearest bed, and I do the same.
"Check this out!" He places his hands on a nearby desk and starts turning it to silver.
"H-Hold on you shouldn't do that." I say
"Chill out, It's okay." he turns the entirety of the desktop to silver, without turning the legs of the table to silver. However, the Lamp, does.
"Woah."
"That's not all" He's sounding out of breath now he's kind of sweating. The table starts to get wavy, like in a lake.
"Wow! You can do that too! That's so cool!"
"I know, now, let's go, start our, vacation." he says, in between pants.
"Here, let me help you" I say, and put his arm around my shoulder.
"No, I can walk"
"Just come on, They're waiting for us."
We walk out and lock the door to the room.
"Thanks" I hear escape his lips, barely audible.
"What?"
"Let's hurry we don't have all day." He Pushes me away and heads down the stairs by himself.
"Do it now."
I look around, and again nobody's there. It sounded like the same person, too. I am in just about the same place as before, so it might just be the someone having a conversation.
I walk down the stairs and walk up to the rest of our group. Mom takes a second to look around and asks:
"Where'd the rest of our bags go?"
"Oh, my quirk allows me to teleport objects to places I've been, Your bags are in your room now." the person behind the counter said.
"Oh, well at least we know where our room is." Mom says.
"Ready?" Dad asks us.
"Yes, I locked the door to our room." I said. "Great! Now let's go!" Jamie said, seemingly getting all his energy back.
"That's the spirit! Well, Off to the art museum!" Dad says and makes his way to the cab.
{Sunset}
The art museum is a really large place, I was really bored for the most part, Mom was really excited, though. She likes this kind of stuff, which is good, I guess. She was able to get a lot of damaged paintings restored using her quirk, which she got praised for.
"Well that was fun! I'm tired, Let's get some sleep and get to the Beach!" Mom said
"Okay…" Me and Jamie said, half asleep.
We get back into the cab and go to the hotel.
When we get there, Mom immediately takes notice to the desk.
"How did they do that? The wood's all rippled."
I look to Jamie, who puts his finger to his lips.
"That is interesting, but not practical at all, you can't use it as a desk." Dad says
"Well, whatever, go to sleep kids, we got a good day tomorrow."
I quickly change into pajamas and get into bed, sleep overtaking me.
{Sunrise}
"Morning Kids! We're going to the beach today!" Mom said, already dressed, probably with a swimsuit on underneath.
"It's early though." I say, looking at the alarm clock.
8:45
"Well, It'll probably be about half past nine by the time we get there, ya know, we still gotta eat breakfast. And the time it takes to get there." Dad said.
"Besides we still gotta go to the museum afterwards, so we'll probably stay for three hours. And we'll head back and take Look at the history of this place." Mom said
"Don't forget to grab some sunblock."
{Midday}
"Woah" Is all I can say when I see the beach. It's beautiful, with crystal clear water near the shore, and deep blue further out.
"Woah, yeah. Come on man! Let's go!." Jamie says, and bolts towards the water.
"You can go around kids, Just don't go too far!" Mom calls out to us.
"We won't!" I tell her, and I run into the water. The first thing I notice is that it's really cold, super cold, and I confirm this with a splash to the face from Jamie.
"Ack! It's cold!"
"Yeah! It is! Wake up!" Jamie replies
"I'm awake I'm awake!"
"Good, Let's look for seashells, there might be some really cool ones here."
"Okay."
We stick our heads underwater and look, wo where my eyes are burned by the saltwater. I launch my head out of the water, and rub my eyes. I hear laughter and Jamie say:
"Your goggles are on your head, idiot." he pulls them over my eyes and continues looking underwater. We do this for a little bit, taking breaths for air every now and then. When Jamie got bored of that he said:
"Hey, let's go into that cave over there, there might be something cool in there."
"Are you sure, it looks kind of scary."
"Danger"
I look behind me, but nobody's there, it sounds like a different voice from before. Jamie looks as well.
"What are you looking at, Weirdo?"
"uhh, nothing."
"Well, whatever, if there's something in there, I'll protect you, got it?"
"O-Okay."
We make our way towards the cave, which is about a ten foot opening, top to bottom. It's nothing too much until we delve further in. We go further until light is almost nonexsistent.
"Let's go back, I can't see."
"Well, here!" He pulls a thing out of his trunks and clicks it. Light floods ahead and he gives a triumphant laugh.
"You had that on you?"
"Yup, It's waterproof, so I brought it with me. He presses on and I follow along with him.
"We shouldn't be doing this mom and dad will be mad."
"That's right, but that's what makes it exciting, right?"
I smile from this, but I don't know why.
"I-I guess."
The Cave keeps getting more narrow, and we walk for I don't know how long, until we reach an opening. It's a lot wider and taller than a moment ago.
"Wow"
"Yeah." the roof of the cave is covered in some sort of glittering rock.
"How long do you think that has been here?" Jamie asks
"Uhh, it's a cave so i'd say… Forever." I cringe at how mean that sounded.
"Not the cave, dummy, THAT" he points to a skeleton lying on the wall, with something shiny in its hand. It's wearing some brown shirt with really short pants.
"A long time, let's go back, that's creepy."
"It's creepy, yes but it's also dead, so there's nothing to be afraid about."
"What about whatever killed him?"
"You said it yourself, he's been dead a while so whatever killed him, if anything, should be dead too. Not to mention.." he takes his finger and wipes it across the head of the skeleton, where we hear a loud CRACK sound. It makes me jump and Jamie pulls his hand back.
"It's got a thick layer of dust, and the skull cracked at my touch. It's at least a thousand years old."
"Wow" I say, amazed.
"Here, catch." He tosses something towards me, which I fail to catch and drop. He gets up and starts walking toward me.
"Stop being clumsy and pick it up." I pick it up and notice it's a coin. A big gold coin about the size as the palm of my hand. It's kind of heavy too.
"Woah, where did you get this from?" I ask. He says nothing and points to the skeleton. I look and notice the shiny thing in its hand is gone.
"B-But it's not mine, and he's dead, so we should let him keep it."
"You said it yourself, he's dead he doesn't need it anymore."
"I guess you're right." I still don't like it, but it still seems wrong.
"Well you found it, you should keep it." I tell him.
"Nah, I already have enough, Just keep it dummy." He says
I decide not to argue, so I pocket it for now and start to follow him.
"Oh no." I hear him say.
"What?" I ask
"Which way did we come from?"
I look and see there's three paths, I guess we didn't notice before, with the only light being from a flashlight.
"Uhh."
"Left"
"Left." I say
"You sure?" he asks
"No." I say and I go into the left tunnel.
"Right"
We go right.
"Middle"
We go through the middle.
"Middle"
"Left"
"Left"
"Right"
We get back to the opening of the cave, where we can see the ocean.
"Nice! You got us back!" Jamie said
"Yeah."
"Well, we've been a while, Mom and dad will be mad." He says
"Agreed."
"You kids ready?" Dad asks
"Yes!" We reply.
"Good, now let's go back, change and go to the history museum."
"This'll be fun!" Mom said.
5:30
In the museum we find an assortment of interesting items and pieces of history. There's really old pots and murals all about. We even sit down for a history lesson from one of the people here. Before we know it, It's time to close the museum.
"Well, I greatly underestimated how big that Museum was." Mom said.
"Yeah, well at least we have something to do tomorrow, come on guys There should be a restaurant really close to here, It's supposed to be really good."
"Mmm" Jamie muttered.
"Try to get something that's not a hot dog, Jamie."
"Hey, I get more things than that."
"Yeah, yeah, let's go eat and enjoy it!" Mom said.
We make our way to the Restaurant, which is a traditional greek place. It smells good, I guess there's only one way to find out.
{Next Day}
"And this right here is over three thousand years old, it supposedly held great power at one point, but was lost when the last user killed a monster with it." our guide said.
"Now, a century ago this would seem outlandish, but with the existence of quirks, it may seem viable. It's said that the first quirks existed thousands of years ago, with heroes like Heracles and other heroes of the gods."
"Psst" I hear a voice to my right. I look to find a girl whose skin is pinkish-purple, and her hair a slightly more pink, her eyes are kind of scary, with black outsides and golden colored parts.
"Follow me." She whispers. And takes off away from the group. I debate going with her for a moment, but it doesn't seem like anybody is looking, so i chase her. I find her just around the corner, waiting for me.
"Took you a second, huh?" she says with a sweet smile.
"Uhh, yeah, I guess."
"Oh, I'm just teasing you." she says with a chuckle.
"You looked just as bored as I was, so I decided to let you tag along with me." she said
"Well, I was bored. So, thank you." I said.
"Yeah, well I'm pretty sure this is the most interesting part of the museum, it has weapons, armor and even materials that heroes used in the past. Like Perseus' winged shoes."
"Really?" I ask
"Yeah It's not on the normal tour, I checked the, uhh." she has trouble getting the words out.
"What is it?"
"I can't remember the words in english, I'm from Japan, so I don't speak a lot of english."
[The following conversation is spoken in Japanese] anything in[brackets] is English.
"I know japanese, so, if it's more comfortable for you, we can speak Japanese." I say
"You do?!" she asks
"I may not look like it, but I do, I'm from Japan too, soo."
"Well, thank you, the word I'm looking for is 'Pamphlet'"
"Ok it's pronounced [Pamphlet], for future reference."
She chuckles and says:"Thanks, now Look at this piece right here." she points to what looks like a golden stick, made of… well gold.
"It's supposedly the first thing The Fabled king Midas touched." she pointed out.
"Yeah, didn't he touch a stone and then his daughter?" she raises an eyebrow and says:
"He did, you know that myth?"
"It's one of the more popular ones, but nothing ever said he learned any type of lesson from that, although he didn't find his powers that useful for a while, until most of the gods wanted him dead, after his whole donkey ear deal, and used his powers to hire several heroes to protect him from the gods, where he hid for the rest of his life." I say.
"Wow, yeah, that's what happened, you know this stuff, huh?"
"It's one of my hobbies." I simply reply.
"Yeah, having that quirk would be kind of scary, speaking of quirks, what's yours? I can melt anything with acid that comes out of my hands, I can't use it here, of course, it would damage something." she says
"I actually don't have one. I'm quirkless." I say.
"Oh."
We're silent for a moment until she says:
"You know, I heard this rumor that if you manage to find where Midas lays and shake his hand, you can gain his power, except it can be controlled!" she exclaims.
"Really?" I ask
"Yeah! Well, Like I said it's just a rumor, and you'd have to actually find him, but he should probably be in the ruins."
"That makes sense."
"Yeah, I'm going there tomorrow, so-"
"Hey, I'm going tomorrow as well, maybe we could look together?" I suggest. Her face lit up when I said this.
"Really! That'll be so cool!"
"I guess It'll be an adventure." I say.
"It will! Oh, I guess we should get going, the tour is supposed to end soon.
"Oh, well this was pretty fun." I say.
"Well, I'll see you at the fair tonight, Right?"
"Yup, I don't think anybody won't be there." I say
"Well, meet me by the ferris wheel, I'll be waiting there for you!"
"Okay, I will."
She simply smiles and takes off. I follow closely behind her.
[the language used has returned to english, for now.]
We walk through some gates and catch up to the rest of the group. She goes to who I assume are her parents. She takes one last look at me and winks.
{Later that day}
"Oh! You two look nice!" Mom tells us.
"Thank you." I say.
"You are a splitting image of your grandfather back in the day. Apart from your eyes, of course, you know his are silver, yours are brown, anyways, We should get going to the fair, or it'll be really late by the time we get back." Mom tells me.
"Yeah, when we get there, I assume it'll be pretty crowded, so try to stick together, we'll meet back at the entrance at 9:30 if we get seperated." Dad said.
"Don't worry, If we pay attention we won't get lost, now, Let's go!"
We pile into the cab where we make our way to the fair. It's about as crowded as expected, if not, more. There's at least two hundred people here, I doubt I would have been able to find her had she not told me where to find her. I'm hesitant at first, but I'm sure they won't be mad if they think that I just got lost. It's pretty easy to lose them, It'd be hard to keep up with them either way. I start to make my way to the ferris wheel, where I don't find her. I decide to wait for a little bit until she got here, I wonder what she wanted to meet me here for.
"Behind you."
Before I think on it anymore, I feel hands press down on my shoulders. It makes me jump and I hear a giggle behind me.
{Japanese again}
"Jumpy, aren't we?" I hear her ask me. I turn around and face her.
"You just surprised me! Anyways, what did you want to meet me here for?"
"I got a couple questions I want to ask you, but let's do it on the ferris wheel, I see you got one of those bands on your wrist, we should get on it for free." she tells me.
We go into the line for the wheel, which doesn't take long, it was loading people up. We're the last people on, the person running it gives us a raised eyebrow and a smirk and lets us on.
The Wheel starts to turn and we sit in silence for a minute when she asks:
"What's it like?"
"Hm?"
"Being quirkless, it must not be fun." she says this in a serious tone, unlike before.
I look over the edge and think for a moment.
"Well, I guess I can't explain it. To put it in a way one would understand, would be like not having a hand, but everybody else does have one." I explain to her.
"Hmm, what do people think of you, there's not a lot of people like you, ya know?"
"Nobody really says anything, except my brother. He's really mean about it, but I'm sure he means well." I tell her.
She stays silent until I say:
"Sometimes it feels like I'm less than everybody else, like I'm not a human."
"That's not true!" she almost shouts. She realizes this and lowers her voice.
"Humans had no quirks for almost as long as they existed, Quirks only recently became real, so, I think that would make you perfectly human." she tells me.
We're silent for a while, before I say:
"Thank you."
"Well, anyways, let's get off this and have some fun!" her smile returns and we continue to observe the rest of the fair.
Once we get off, we head over to a big scary-looking dropper-type thing.
"Wanna do that?" she asks, excited.
"Uhh."
"It'll be fun! Come on!"
"Okay, Let's do it."
We reach the top of the ride, our feet dangling off the edge. I'm feeling nervous, and I can see that she is as well. Before I dwell on it, We drop. I can hear screaming, the loudest coming from right beside me. No sound escapes my lips, It's not as scary as I thought. We walk off, with her almost shaking.
"Not doing that again." She says.
"Yeah, not fun."
We spend the rest of our time going around and playing games and going on rides around the grounds.
"That was fun!" she tells me.
"Yeah, it was, I gotta meet up with my family, I do hope to see you tomorrow?"
"Like I said earlier, I'll be there, we'll look and explore together!" I smile and wave.
"Later then."
"Later!"
I wait outside our meeting area for about five minutes before the rest of my family comes along.
"Good to see you Arnold, I would've been worried." Mom told me.
"Well now that we're here, let's get some sleep and explore some ruins! We'll watch a presentation after that and then we'll be on our way home." Dad tells us.
Next day
"Wow." is all I can say when I see the ruins. It's really old. It seems like If i touch it it'll just disintegrate.
I already left my family behind, they were kinda slow and I wanted to meet up with that girl. We are supposed to look together, after all. I walk around a little more, The ruined city is amazing, There's houses and maybe even really important buildings. I wonder if Julius caesar was killed in that building over there. He was greek, RIght?
I decide to enter one of the houses. It looks a little fancier than the rest of the houses, it might be a clue.
"Hiya." I hear behind me.
"Oh, Hi." I say. I already know it's her by her voice.
"How did you know I was here?" I ask her, while looking back. She's wearing shorts and an explorer-esqe shirt, and a sunhat.
"Just a hunch, Now what did you find?" she asks.
"Nothing yet." I say as I lean against the wall.
"Bad Idea."
I push my weight against it, to which the walls immediately crumble and I fall back into a hole.
"Are you Okay?!" I hear from above.
"Yeah, Just a little surprised, that's all." I'm not hurt badly. The fall was barely five feet, but it's just enough to be able to get in and out.
"What's down there?" she asks.
"It's kind of dark, I can't see well. Hold on a second."
I decide to try a trick Grandpa taught me. I grab a stone and a piece of metal I had in my pocket. There happens to be a unused torch nearby, which is odd enough, but good for us. I light it on fire and hear a little Thump behind me to find that she jumped down here.
"Woah! How did you do that?" she asks
"A little trick my grandpa taught me, it's for situations like this."
"Cool! Well, there's a passageway down there, Should we go down it?" She asks.
"If we wanna find it, then, yes." I say.
We head down the tunnel, with Me in the lead. I can feel her holding on to me. I think she's scared. I look back and find that she's looking to our sides, with a really worried expression on her face. I look back ahead and say:
"Hey, keep smiling, a look of worry doesn't suit you. It scares me."
I don't get a response, but I can tell she's smiling from that. We keep walking until we round a corner and I spot a light. We walk into a brightly lit room, with torches all around. The room is so bright because it's distinctly… Gold. It's shiny, that's what it is.
Standing in the center of the room, like a beacon in all this gold is a man with a black suit on, he's got black hair and is facing what seems to be a statue. There's other figures in the room too, just some aren't all the way formed, most of them look kind of melted, and one was outright destroyed. There's a light panting that can be heard, it seems to be coming from the guy. He turns around and regards us.
"Well kids, I had no luck, Maybe one of you will get it." He's quite a handsome man, with a handsome face, with a few wrinkles, and seemingly color-changing eyes. He's quite tall. He walks past me and puts his hand on my head. He rustles my hair a little bit, and walks off.
"Don't give up." he says as he rounds the corner and disappears.
"That was weird." She says
"Yeah, well I think We got a shot." I say
"We do." she says and smiles
The statue in the center of the room is of a king sitting in a throne with his hand extended, he looks kinda emaciated.
"What do I have to do again?"
"Shake his hand, go on, do it." she urges me.
I do so, and grab the king's hand. A shiver runs down my spine, but that's about it.
"Well?"
"I feel, weird now, like something else is inside me now, it's uncomfortable."
"Maybe it worked!"
"Yeah, maybe it did."
"Let's go back, I think my parents are worried about me." She says.
"Good Idea, I kind of just left my family." We start down the hall once again, I look back to see the torches have all gone out, and the statue in the middle of the room seemingly crumbles.
We reach the surface and leave the house.
"That was fun!" She said.
"Yeah it was! Thank you." I tell her.
"I should Go now, I have to see a presentation and catch a plane."
"Oh well, I don't think I ever got your name."
"Oh, It's Arnold, Arnold Furuiyoku."
"Oh, well it's nice meeting you Furuiyoku."
"And yours?"
She giggles and says:
"I'll tell you that when I see you in Japan."
I roll my eyes and start to walk away.
"I guess I'll see you later then."
She waves and yells:
"See ya!"
English again
I-I'm running. I feel really sick, like I'm going to throw my insides up. My head feels like a war zone right now. I couldn't pay attention to that program or whatever. I feel like my head is gonna explode.
I think I'm sitting now. Mom said something about a layover earlier. I slept through most of the first flight. I think I'll sleep again. I notice a guy to my right, he looks vaguely familiar, with a suit and all, Guess he had a flight today as well.
"WAKE UP"
I hear this, but I'm underwater, Deep underwater.
"Swim up, cup your hands and kick your feet."
I do so, I can barely move, or stay awake, I don't know what's happening. I want my mom.
"Just focus, when you're up grab ahold of that thing that's floating."
I reach the surface and do as I'm told, gasping for air. I start to cry, I don't know what's going on
"Don't cry, you can't afford that. Just try to stay alive."
"Mom." I choke
"I'm sorry, little one."
I start to lose my vision, everything is fading to black, I'm struggling to breathe.
"Someone, grandpa, anyone. Please. Save me." I black out, grabbing onto an engine.
