Lauren's POV.

I was strolling leisurely down the corridor at lunch, minding my own business when I heard a loud noise come from down the hall. My eyes widened and I ran down the corridor towards the noise, skidding to a stop when I saw Nathaniel Brown, the Student Body President, pinned against a locker by none other than my crush; Castiel Parker. Why I liked him I had no idea, he was normally rude, arrogant and incredibly sarcastic, but something about him just drew me towards his candy apple red hair, chiseled features and typical bad boy image.

I darted forward and intervened, grabbing Castiels fist before it came into contact with Nathaniels face.

"Castiel stop! What are you doing?" I cried, exasperated. Castiel didn't normally get into physical fights, he was more of the type to get into arguments and then storm off.

"Move, Lauren" Castiel growled without looking at me.

"Castiel, stop it, you're better than this, please stop" I begged him. "Please" I whispered. He finally looked at me, his eyes softening and his fist lowered to hang by his side, his fingers uncurling. He let go of Nathaniel and walked away moodily, leaving me to follow after him.

"Castiel, what was that back there?" I asked, jogging to keep up with his long strides. He ignored me and kept walking. I ran in front of him and placed a hand against his chest, forcing him to stop.

"Why are you ignoring me?" I asked, furrowing my eyebrows.

"I'm not" He said. I raised my eyebrows and he sighed. "Fine, I was but I just didn't know what to say, okay?"

"Why did you do that to Nathaniel?" I asked him softly. He looked away, looking embarrassed, a faint pink hue spread across his cheeks.

"He, uh, was looking for you and I told him to stop using you like his slave and uh, I took it too far" He admitted quietly, being completely honest with me for once. I smiled and leaned forward, standing on the tip of my toes, placing a kiss on his cheek.

"Thanks Cas, it's nice to know you care about me" I grinned as he placed a hand on his cheek where I'd kissed him, his face glowing almost as red as his hair.

"I-I don't" He protested. "I was just warning him" He muttered.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever, Cas. Come on, we're late for English" I said.

"And what makes you think I'm going to class?" He asked me, raising an eyebrow, smirking as his blush fainted. There was the Castiel I knew.

"Because you get to sit with your favourite person" I laughed, linking my arm with his.

"Oh? And who might that be?" He asked, surprisingly not tearing his arm from mine.

"Mrs. Pearson" I said with a straight face as we started walking. Castiel grimaced, probably imagining the ninety-something year olds face.

"Yeah, she really is a catch" He joked. "But I prefer you a lot more" He told me, ruffling my hair. My face heated up and I could practically feel it turning red. Castiel laughed at me, throwing an arm around my shoulders as we walked together, laughing.
