The Acts of One…
There once was a young woman named Maddie. She had two kids and was a widow. She had gone bankrupt and was forced to move out of her house. She and her kids became homeless. They moved into a homeless shelter. There they got the essentials that they needed, but Maddie always felt like something was missing. Little did she know that the one thing was right around the corner.
Matt, is a very wealthy man. He was very humanitarian and was always looking for ways to help. One day, he went to a homeless shelter with intentions of helping out there and donating money to help with renovations. While being toured around, Matt bumped into someone. The person he had bumped into dropped what she was holding and quickly scrambled down to pick them up. Matt, being the gentleman that he is, quickly got down and helped her.
"Hi. I'm Matt"
Maddie looked up, but only for a second, because what she saw took her by such surprise. In front of her was the most handsome man she had ever met. He had eyes as blue as the oceans water and that seemed to look right through her. His lips were perfectly formed to his face, pink and plump. His perfectly sculpted arms were revealed from his sleeves which were half way rolled up. She looked down quickly.
In front of him, was a gorgeous woman. He couldn't believe his eyes. There she was standing there with her warm chocolate eyes. Her fair skin was flushed with embarrassment. Long locks of brown wavy hair fell in front of her face, as if she was trying to hide herself desperately. Looking at her, he pulled the hair out from in front of her face.
"Hi. I'm Matt" he repeated.
"Maddie," she replied.
Now Matt thought to himself. He'd never seen a girl like this, or even felt this way about one. Words couldn't even describe the emotions he was feeling at the moment. A sudden rush of confidence ran over him as he involuntarily took her hands.
"So…do you live here?"
Sulkily, Maddie nodded once. She did not want to bring attention to herself. Sure Matt was a nice guy, but she had been in love once and that hadn't worked out for her so well.
"Umm, I have to go." She turned and tried to leave.
"Wait!" Matt grabbed her hand at the last second. He pulled her back to face him. "Where do you have to go, I mean, maybe I could walk you there."
Not wanting to be rude Maddie quickly agreed. She led the strange man that until now had been a complete stranger to her.
Matt was in complete awe as he was lead down this long hallway. Before him, people old and young, black and white, walked down the hall. Most of them were wearing old tattered clothes that were ill-fitting. Based on what he saw, people there should have been crying and in need. But what was happening was totally unexpected. Children running around were laughing and joyful. Men and women hugged and exchanged words of kindness that often led to laughs. Matt took a mental note of this and kept following Maddie to her room.
As she stepped into the doorway to her room, two little children ran up to greet her. Out of the corner of her eye, Maddie saw Matt come around the corner to see what was going on. Upon seeing him the two youngest of the group hugged their mother closer, unable to know what to think of this new visitor.
"Hi guys, I'm Matt." Matt slowly reached his hand out.
The two kids looked up at their mother to seek permission. Maddie nodded at them and they turned to the stranger.
