I don't own any characters. Elemental masters belong to Mercedes Lackey.
It was there one year anniversary and Maya could hardly believe it. It had been one year since had came to England, where she had discovered elemental magic, one year since she had stopped her evil aunt Shanvi and one year since she had met and fell in love with Peter.
Peter...just the thought of him made her heart swoon with happiness as she magically prepared dinner for Peter as he came home from work. One of her favorite things about Peter was that he was willing to let work even after they got married. In some ways he was ahead of his time, in other ways he was just like anyone else. Well...aside that he was an elemental master just like her.
Soon her pets entered the room to see her work, one of them with a letter in its mouth. As Maya took the letter she realized it was from her friend Reggie Fenyx. It was a wedding invitation sometime in June.
Maya smiled. It had been sometime ago that she and her husband had met the young man, and she was glad that he had found someone who could share his life with. Wanting to know who was the lucky girl, she opened the letter and read it. Reggie was marrying a woman named Eleanor Robinson and their wedding was on June 13th.
"I can't wait to tell Peter when he gets home." Maya said to her seven friends.
"You know said it." They all said at once.
"I can't believe it's been a year." The Monkey stated.
"I know, I can't believe it either." Maya replied with a smile. Then she suddenly remembered her parents. How she missed them! How they would've love to meet Peter. Even though it had only been a year, it would still hurt to think about them.
"Thinking about your parents?" The snake questioned.
Maya nodded.
"I miss them too." The snake said in a sad tone.
"We all do." The Monkey added as, himself, the snake and the rest of Maya and Peter's friends came towards Maya wrapped her in a big hug. For several minutes, she hugged and then she untangled herself as she replied "Thank you. You are all the best friends anyone could have."
"Your welcome, Maya. We love you." All of her pets answered with love and honesty.
Maya smiled as she wiped away a few tears of joy. Once she was finished, she turned to her seven friends and said "Come on, we have so much work to do."
Later that evening, Peter returned to a dark home. Then he turned on an oil lamp and was greeted by his seven friends and the smell of a home cooked meal.
"Surprise! Happy Anniversary!" Maya and their pets cried.
Peter felt surprised, touched and love for his wife and pets all at once.
"Oh…you guys and Oh Maya...I love you." He said with delight.
"Oh Peter, I love you too." Maya replied as she allowed Peter to pull her closer for a tight lovingly embrace.
Then the happy couple passionately kissed each other for what seemed like an eternity. Then they pulled apart and smiled at each other, before they and their seven pets headed towards the dinning room for a great anniversary dinner.
Sometime later, as the couple and their pets ate, they chatted about what happened during the day.
"Well, Dr. Pike is doing very well these days." Peter said as he ate a bite of chicken.
"Do you remember Reginald Fenyx?" Maya questioned before she took a sip of wine.
"Yes." Peter answered.
"Well, he just invited us to his wedding in June." Maya explained with joy.
"Who's the lucky girl?" Peter wondered.
"Her name is Eleanor Robinson." Maya recalled. "Oh, I forgot to tell you it's on the 13th of June." She added.
Peter smiled as she raised his glass in the air and said "May his marriage is as happy as ours. Happy anniversary darling!"
"Happy Anniversary!" Maya said with a smile as she and Peter clicked their glasses.
