She held his hand tightly, she didn't want him to leave, she knew if she let go he would not come back.
"Please AA, let me go."
"No, If I let you go you won't come back" Her eyes were tearing up
"Aradia..." he stopped pulling and came closer, his arms wrapped around her.
"Promise me." her voice was cracked and her tears were flowing non stop
"what?"
"Promise me, that you will come back."
"I promise." With those words he let go and ran into the battle. She could only watch from the sidelines helplessly.
Later...
She leaned over his unmoving body, tears falling on his cold skin, he was gone, and he wasn't coming back.
"No, please, Sollux, no." He opened his eyes a fraction. "Please Sollux, you...you promised." Her tears were fogging her vision
"I'm Sorry AA." His hand reached up and wiped a small tear away from the corner of her eye, a soft smile on his lips, then his arm fell to his side, his eyes closed and his breathing stopped. She gave him one last kiss.
"You promised."
